Using a new light distortion pedal I like (Ego Boost)

I was looking around a local guitar shop and trying out a bunch of distortion / boost pedals. I ended up taking something home (this rarely happens) I just liked the sound a lot. It's called "ego boost" by some folks out of Washington called Smart People Factory ( It's a lot less over the top than my Boss OD-2R Turbo Overdrive. It's not something I's use for heavy metal but if I put my guitar through it to my Vox AD50VT modelling a tweed 4x10, it sounds awesome. It's really simple, stomp on/off, boost, and a no-load tone pot (all the way left is off. Once it clicks, it's off the circuit). No volume pot, so if I want to keep the same level with distortion I have to use the volume on my guitar or a volume pedal.

Has anyone else heard this? If so, what are your impressions?

I'm not affiliated, just happy with the product and wanted to share my experience.

If it sounds good, it is good. - Duke Ellington

Judging by the name alone....this would be the last pedal that I would need. At least that's what my wife would say.

It's as if everyone hopped on the scary-clown bandwagon all at once--then hopped right back off again when they discovered it was a bandwagon of scary clowns."
