mxr Phaser
I want one but it seems most sites don't have 'em anymore except Ebay. Did they discontinue the little orange ones due to the EVH signature phaser? Why can't they leave things alone?

I got a used one yesterday at an independent music store. I got the Orange 90. Used it last night at band practice and wow. I borrowed a Boss from the other guitar player at the previous practice and it was fun, but the MXR is more sensitive. Simpler too with just one knob.
I gotta give props to my sister who surprised me by purchasing the phaser for me. She got it for $49. |

Script Phase 90
I just got the Custom shop remake of the script phase 90, and it sounds awesome, although it is the first pedal I have bought for my chain that has some tone-suck to it....but that's ok, as I plan to get a clean boost for the end of my chain as a level boost for my pedals, so it should be fine.
But this thing sounds great. Classic phase tones, without the distortion of the newer ones. |

I like the EVH, it's true bypass FWIW. When I got mine, I A/B'd it with a regular one (during a quiet afternoon at the MegaloMart) and it definitely had a smoother sound. I heard that the new script model is the same circuit w/o the switch and funky paint.
BTW, I have a great Stones bootleg from '76 and I don't think Keef turned his off the whole show! |
