Pedal question BOSS CS-3
playing country, i have my CS-3 compresser set like this...
LEVEL = 12 o clock TONE = 12 o clock ATTACK = 9 o clock SUSTAIN = 12 o clock Now sometimes when Im playing in the background it comes in too loud but then when I crank the geetar up for a solo it kinda dissapears. Which knob should I turn to kinda balance this up?

Hi Twangman,
I also play country and use the same Pedal. Here are my settings for my Boss Compressor CS3. Level=9 oclock, Tone=1 oclock, Attack=12 oclock, Sustain 12 o'clock. I also use an unknown old Overdrive Pedal to give extra boost to the signal without the distorsion turned up, and also a Boss DD3 Delay Pedal. I find I can get the Brent Mason Tele tone with just the Overdrive Pedal, and if I want the Vince Gill tone I just turn on the compressor and delay with the overdrive and it is twang heaven. My Amp is a 70's silver face Twin Reverb and my two Boss Pdedals are modified with the Indyguitarist mods which helps quite a bit to keep the nice tone in your rig. I also have heard good things about the Boss Bluesdriver with the Indyguitarist Mods. From what I hear it is Brent Mason's favorite pedal and I take it is giving the same effect as my old Overdrive Pedal that really gives the tone some nice fattening up with a bit of hair on it ! Oh my pickup is a Seymore Duncan Broadcaster bridge pickup. |
