Does a 1 spot work with a dyna comp? Thinking of purchasing a 1 spot for a small pedal board.
HELP? :? |

Does it...
Take the pin style plug or is it the type that would have a hole in the middle?
From what I remember, the 1 spot came only with the latter type connection. However, you can always replace that tip with the other type from Radio Shack for under a buck. Caution....if you plan on using the octopus connector to hook several effects up to the 1 spot...it won't work. I think the MXR effects may be positive tip and the most others are negative tip at the connection....thus, you'd short. If so, you'd need one 1spot for the negative pedals and one for the positives. Or skip the game and get a Visual Sound Pedal Power which can power + and - effects simultaneously. |

Dynacomp is negative tip
I'm pretty sure that the reissued MXR Dynacomp takes a negative center and positive barrel. I use the same kind of power supply on mine that I use with my Boss pedals.
I think that most pedals by major manufacturers are starting to adopt this standard. Either way, on Musicians Friend they say that the 1 SPOT can replace the Boss PSA which is the adaptor I use for my Dynacomp. Of course, I have no knowledge about vintage Dynacomps but I think this should work for the new one. --James W |
