i have a question for pedal board users: how many of you sing live?

i only ask because i'd like to make up a pedal board for my limited array of pedals (boss tuner > t-rex trem > bluesbreaker clean boost > TS9) to stop them getting bashed about in a bag and keep the power supply connected, leads tidy etc. but i'm concerened about the fact that i often have to rearrange my pedals round a mic stand's legs on a cramped stage, and if i have a pedal board it might have to get positioned off to the side or something. and as i have to change sounds while singing quite a lot it might cause difficulties...

anyone else experienced this issue?

I do almost all the singing in my band. I have a small pedal board as you can see. I have learned to use it either left or right footed depending on how it must be set up on stage. Most of the time the settings remain constant so (with my bands type of arrangements) there is not a lot of pedal hopping.

Keep it simple works best for me...YMMV.

I saw somewhere a board that split in half to allow for better mic placement. Can't remember for the world what it was called now, but I know it's out there

i'm wondering if i should just carry on with the individual pedals then. there is more than one moment in the set at present where i have to stand on two pedals at once while singing (it doesn't look to gracefull but it can be done) i reckon i'm just going to keep it simple for now then. i'm jealous of all these fabulous pedalboards though!

thanks and carry on!

Okay, so I like Boss too...

The board with the stomp boxes slotted in and connected up.
L-R, Boss CH-1 Super Chorus, DD-3 Digital Delay, (Keeley modded) TR-2 Tremelo, MD-2 Mega Distortion, (Keeley modded) BD-2 Blues Driver, SD-1 Super Overdrive, PW-10 V-Wah, TU-2 Chromatic Tuner and a Marshall channel switcher. The 'spare' is a PH-3 Phase Shifter. The unit is powered by the Boss PSA-240 AC adaptor.

What I would suggest to you is to use an A/B bos to switch between 2 sounds when you sing. Like one for the rhythm, and for the solos. Place a Pedal board where you can access it between the songs to change the set-up, but keep the A/B box in front of you when you sing. Best of both worlds.

What I also like to do is use an extarnal footswith for some effect that I want to swith on and off, but without having to keep the box close.

New guy here. The 1st pedal board I use for bars and such, the second one stays at the church so I don't have to haul so much equipment back and forth.

Although it may be overkill for you, Core makes a board with a built in mic stand.

A friend of mine uses one of these with 6 or so pedals. No complaints yet.

Cheers,

Bob

I never had the wah at church, until we started doing a song called "You Found Me", I think it's by FFH. The only other times I use it are as a fixed wah sound, just to add a certain growl/tone to a lead part.
Also, all wah parts don't have to be balls to the alter, I mean wall, they can be smooth and mellow, I think???????

Hello my fellow guitar enthusiasts. I am a newbie here, so this is my first post. All I can say is, WOW! Can't believe some of these boards. I can barely keep up with my 3 pedals much less a dozen or so. Quite impressive. Wish I could hear each of you demonstrating your sound. That would be interesting, I am sure. In any case I am looking forward to this forum. I plan to learn, laugh, and enjoy.

Hey Kilt:

How do you like the Epi Es-295? I would love to try one, but can't ever find one around here.

The pedalboard threads are popular these days! I just re-did my board following getting one of the Furman boards with the soft case. In setting it up I was surprised this round how some of the most costly and customized pedals didn't make their way onto the board. The modded Boss stuff, Private Builder, and Tonebones just didn't do something different or add as the core of the board was hands down the SFX-03. Right now I am using ...

guitar>535Q>SD1>OD3>Silver Dragon>SFX-3>DD6>Reflector>ED1

It seems to get from clean, to country compressed then to gritty country into blues all the way to 80's rock or Santana-like. the SFX-03 acts like an amp when you hit it with another pedal so volume control is wonderful. It takes well to all my amps, SS and tube.

Here is the pic of the board in the travel bag (I usually just leave it in and open the bag.
