Really digging the Crazy Horse. Got a great deal on it used, so the price wasn't as much of an issue. As you can see in the pic, I've got the Drive down low and the Fuzz at noon, Volts at noon to give it a bit of sag. It sounds full and rich but still has plenty of top end bite at these settings. I was surprised at how much treble I could get out of it, since most of the video demos I've seen have been rather bass-heavy. I'm hitting it with the Greer Ghetto Stomp (as opposed to cranking up the drive on the Crazy Horse a bit more), which adds some really nice 3D to the bottom end. Lots of variety, as all of the controls are interactive. It's a keeper.

Thought I would post some updates. My pedals / pedalboard changes almost week to week (as I'm sure many others do as well).

I'm still waiting for some new pedals to arrive as well!
a Homebrew CPR, a BBE Mind Bender, and a Lovepedal Amp 50

Pedalboard.

Here's my newly formatted direct board complete with pop off (velcro on) sub board that lets me take the Tech 21s and JDI off as a unit. Sub board is velcro covered flat 5" aluminum door threshold that also gives about 1/4" riser and makes the top row easier to access.

and the slightly cleaned up - ie less tap dancing - "big" board

After a long setup, I have a nice new setup.

(p.s. the order isn't totally how it looks before anyone asks.)

Some awesome setups here!

Order is:
Sunface, Mister Crybaby Wah, Klon, Box of Rock, Carbon Copy, RV-7, RC-2, and Pitchblack
now that i think about it i'm going to switch the RC-2 with the pitchblack so i can tune and have loops running
learned the ever important lesson that Germanium doesn't like buffers...

Also, these pedaltrain cases are excellent

I imagine this will change a bit when the EHX memory boy/toy drops

Hmmm... something is looking not quite right about the Sunface, Klon, and Box of Rock... hmmm...

(I'm assuming either clones or rehouses???)

it's a brilliant pedal, it's hard to get a sound out of it hat isn't useful. Only thing that might replace it is the EHX cathedral

Philly Fuzz - the sunface, klon, and BoR are all clones built by a gentleman named Mike over at shortscale.org . Check out madebymike.co.uk to see all of the pedals he builds and what services he offers along the lines of cloning pedals.

I appreciate the info. I hope to A/B on of these against the new Boss '63 Fender Reverb pedal when it comes out.

My money is on the rv-7
the boss will be a good one trick pony, but the rv7 is a must for me as I like a lot of variety in me pedals. Plus it's not boss (bad experience) and true bypass, stereo ins and outs. The hardwire series is great.

NICE ROB! I've known you've had that thing for ages but never seen you use it. Must get some pretty lush sounds, dont think i've ever seen a board of yours with modulation

Isaac, isaac, isaac..... i do miss all of the modulation effects, i got into drone style rock RIGHT after i shipped that pedal off to you, imagine the noises that, the rv7, carbon copy, and a volume pedal could make

messy iphone pic:

I really wanted to have my Cake and eat it too 8) which is currently used for fuzzy goodness on the full gain channel, and a clean booster [only thing keeping me from getting a Saltbooster/Plane ticket at the moment]
I also switched the drive and modulation pedals around, i also put the tuner before the delay and reverb, so im not tuning a delayed signal, gets really fubar at times when i've got the delay and reverb running, you cant tune unless you turn them both off
I need to go to the guitar shope and pick up another 3' and a 1', the 3' to go from Box to Box [cake/rock] as i have a faulty 10' thats tied up underneath everything, and the 1' from the Wah's out to the Klon's in

Order is:
MBM Sunface
Mister Crybaby Vol/Wah
MBM Klon
MBM Box of Cake
MBM Box of Rock
Korg Pitchblack
MXR Carbon Copy
Hardwire RV-7
RC-2

Only gripe is that the rc2 is hanging off the velcro a tad, i can get super low profile patch cables that could solve this if it becomes a problem, all should be well after $20 have been spent on cables

My first pedalboard and a work in progress. Probably going to ditch the DF-7 eventually ... got it free on a trade and had room to throw it in there so I'm fiddling with it to see if I can find a use for it. Most of the sounds are way heavier than the music I play, although I'm using it for one heavier cover tune my band plays. The rest will probably stay a while. Digidelay just added, and the tuner.

Switched over to the Box of Cake and sold off the Klon. Going to get a Saltbooster or Dwarfcraft Plate ticket boost [both LPB based boosters]
The Box of Rock is currently only used as a boost so i have something to play until i make my decision on what boost pedal i want
After that i assume i will be done for a while  unless i pick up a memory boy/toy :w00t:

considering modding the Mister Crybaby to have a tuner out like a VPJR

Judging by the shape I would say its a Korg Pitchblack Tuner

It's not a failure if it works for him. I agree, there are a couple of pedals on there where I would probably choose another brand but overall it's good stuff. Boss gets a bad rep from some people but the Boss pedals that I've used have always done a good job for me.

It's an interesting approach. I think I see where he's coming from, multiple copies of the same pedal with different settings. I've done the same thing myself in a more limited fashion.

I disagree. If it works for him, then rock on!!
I find it more irritating when you see a board full of overpriced 'boutique' pedals where standard pedals at a quarter of the price would have done the same job, but again, if it works for you, go for it.

Thanks! Yes that black one is my tuner. Yesterday I sold the Honey Bee and I'm looking for something that would make my tone a little bit beefier. Don't know what that might be yet...
I usually play a Thin Skin '52 Tele, Vox AC15 TBX or SF Deluxe Reverb.

Let's see..... You've only made 2 posts on this forum, your name is "I love my STRAT", your sig line reads: "I'm cool cause I like analog effects" and on your second post you make such a foolish and naοve statement about someone else's pedalboard. All of this suggests that you're young and inexperienced. You don't know the guy and you've never even heard him play, so what makes you think you're qualified enough to put down his effects rig just because they're all the same brand pedals?

He likes Boss pedals. What's wrong with that? If they work for him for him and get him the sounds he wants, then what should it matter? You can buy all sorts of different brand name pedals (digital or analog) and even spend a fortune on high-priced 'boutique' pedals, but none of them will make a bit of difference if you can't play well. It's not the gear that makes a guitarist, it's what the guitarist does with the gear he or she's got that counts.

*Edit*
By the way, where's your pedalboard? Since you're quick to jump in and criticize someone else's board, it's only fitting that we see yours.

This irritates me...all one brand=no research to find the perfect pedal...epic fail.....
1. What exactly is wrong with Boss pedals? Never knew one to fail, break, or disapppoint. Easy to mod and most of your boutique makers have been copying them for decades.
2. Why are you trolling?
3. It is his board not yours, if you can't say something nice then move on.

That Boss pedal board kind of makes me want to suggest a rack unit as a better option but to each his own right?

It stands out so much from all of the others posted. Multiples of the same pedal and all from one company. Being the same ends up being different.

I don't think they are all the most current models so there's always some choices being made.

I bet he's Dave Navarro. Are you Dave Navarro?
