Oh good lord - if I lived anywhere near there I'd be in big trouble!

Where I live in Podunkville USA (aka West Central Illinois) there is no boutique pedal shops unless I make the 4 hour journey to Chicago and even then, their selection isn't anywhere near as big as the one at Rock Block so I might as well go an extra couple/3 hours to Nashville. I love that place. Very down home vibe and no pressure. I literally walked in the first time I went there and they were very friendly. I told them what I wanted to try, made a pile of 'em, and picked out the ones I wanted. They are great. I always go there every time I'm in Nashville. I try to make it down there every summer for a few days. I love that city. Every time I go to RB I'm discovering pedals they carry that I didn't see the last time. Talk about overwhelming. For a pedal geek and collector like me it's pretty much like going to the candy store for a little kid.

I guess it's probably a good thing there isn't a place like that near me. Otherwise I would probably never have a penny to my name. The only places around here are small mom and pop stores that only carry small things, and there is a GC about 1 and a half hours away but other than that there isn't much so I do most of my pedal shopping online, which is tough to gauge what stuff sounds like. I like going to a place like Rock Block and actually trying the stuff through a similar rig and hearing what it sounds like and comparing stuff.

BTW nice board and I like the red Tele in your avatar! I love 'buckers in the neck position of Teles.

Big Board...not picture worthy at the moment.

I've actualy been using this setup for almost two weeks now. I haven't posted in a while so here's the board. I added the Ibanez CS-9 while my Boss CE-2 is getting fixed and modded. I picked the CS-9 up at a pawn shop for $50, I think it was a pretty good deal. I like my CE-2 a lot better though. The CS-9 gives a slight volume boost and adds some high end. I also picked up a Boss DD-3 for $60 on Craigslist. Because of the DD-3 I put a power strip under my board so it can run on it's own adapter. The DC Brick can't handle all the MA's from the DD-3. I moved everything around so the tuner is now first in the chain. It's a much more convenient setup. I'm going to upgrade to a Pedaltrain 2 at some point. When I do that, I'll buy a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus and a Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe. That is my overall plan. After that I'll be done. I wish I wouldn' have to buy a Pedaltrain, but this board is heavy and it can't fit that one other pedal.

Cool CS9! I love mine. Is yours a reissue?

I don't know if it's a reissue or an original. It doesn't have the rubber bottom with the label. Is there any oher way to tell when it was made ? It's a good pedal, but it isn't what I'm realy looking for. It works for now though. I would flip it and sell it for more than the $50 I paid, but I already told the bass player for the church band that he can buy it when my CE-2 is fixed.

They are good people. Sometimes I go just for the hang. Fun to talk shop, etc. And not just pedals they usually have some sweet amps you can't find anywhere else.

Thanks, that my new baby. A '63 Custom w/ a 50's neck. Masterbuilt by Jason Smith, I can't keep my hands off of it!!! This is my second with a minibucker in the neck. Ya know, I'm not sure I'll ever go back to a Tele with a single coil in the neck. I love the contrast of tones. If I wanted a single coil neck sound I'd actually prefer a strat for that duty.

Next time you're in town shoot me a private message I'll gladly go pedal shopping!

Finished my DIY pedalboard a few weeks ago and finally have all the pedals on it. (Peavey switch will be replaced by BYOC Tremolo whenever I can get around to building it) and possibly an EHX Freeze.

The pedalboard is all velcro'd together as well, so I can pull off the back panel, or take the whole top off and have full access to the power supply. Good times.

For sure! They are very knowledgeable and know their stuff too which is always nice. They recommended some stuff to me last time I was in there that I really love now. I was so overwhelmed the first time I went in there I basically said ok I want some dirtboxes and they just handed me some stuff to try. Really nice. And their amps are great too. And guitars for that matter.

I will definitely do that! I plan on being in town around the 2nd week of June.

Dark lighting, and stupid instagram, but this is my board. Spot under the Boss MiJ DF2 is for an OCD copy (by biyang or Joyo, can't remember.) The big space to the left of everything is for my dl4 that I'm purchasing Saturday and maybe a reverb.

I really like it. It goes from just a bit of a warm boost to a pretty good amount of dirt. It stacks well with my ts9. I highly recommend it. Especially for the price.
