To be honest, I haven't done any experiments with an oscilloscope, but I've found that the TU-2 is one of the few tuners that doesn't seem to eat at my tone. It took Boss long enough to make a pedal tuner that you'd think that they would address all the things that people didn't like about older pedal tuners. So I'll say that I think the buffer circuitry in the TU-2 is pretty good as far as I can tell.

None here either.
I've had a TU-2 on both of my pedal boards for about 2 years now, and I haven't noticed any signal loss at all.
Are you using a battery or an A/C adapter? If you're using a battery, be sure that it's a high quality battery, like a Duracell Gold or similar. Your cheap, run-of-the-mill batteries really do suck in digital pedals. I'm not sure of the milli-amp draw on the TU-2, but if you're using an A/C adapter, be sure that it's able to provide enough amps. |

And another nope.
The TU-2 and Visual Sounds Route 66 are both buffered in a virtually transparent manner to my ears, so you only know they are in the chain when you activate them. Not so for some of my older pedals like the DOD 250 preamp/OD box that I bought nearly 30 years ago, which sounds good when it's on but sucks the living tone out of the signal when it's off.

I never did any experiments to really see if there was a difference, but I haven't noticed any signal loss at all. My signal chain is pretty simple, though, just a guitar and a cord and a tuner and a cord and sometimes a Drivetrain and an extra patch cord.
I've known guys that had problems with other pedals sucking tone and it seems like sometimes the problems weren't noticable until you put the pedal in a long chain. |
