Aural Exciter/Sonic Maximizer Pedals

Anybody ever use one of these???
I have some SS amps and I am wondering
if this can help solid state distortion sparkle
like tubes??? Users say its their secret
weapon for lush, brilliant, harmonically rich tone...
I suspect it enhances constructive harmonic layers
and suppresses out of phase deconstructive harmonic layers.

Aural Exciter/Sonic Maximizer

I've had the small Sonic Maximizer unit, not a pedal, and last year tried the Aural Exciter pedal, both with tube amps, not SS, found them both to add something to the sound when playing at low volume around the house but using them live neither one seemed to make enough noticeable difference to warrant me keeping them, so I sold them both. YMMV

I picked up a sonic maximizer a couple of months ago. It's probably the only pedal I've ever sent back. It made everything sound fake to my ears. But I've read reviews of people really loving them. For my use it was not a necessity.

I think radio stations run their music...

thru these to liven up the sound...
kind of gives the music a hissy, spacey sound????
WCBS a recently demised legendary oldies station
in NYC did not use it.....just a little old fashioned reverb.
I could listen to that station for hours and not experience
aural fatigue...it did not have that artificial quality that you elude to.. with the returned pedal...think I'll stay away...thanks
