Timmy Pedal?
Any body try one of these Timmy Pedals?
A guy turned me on to one the other day through a Kendrick Bassman! Sweet sounding OD. I called Paul and ordered two since it will take like three to four monthe till you get a call it is ready, never the less it seems worth the wait. Thank god I didn't order a Dumble Amp! I love the Timmy. Very natural sounding, fantastic EQ controls, and available for a very reasonable price (you just have to be prepared to wait a while). You couldn't ask for a better guy to deal with than Paul Cochrane too.
Two thumbs way up! |

I LOVE my Timmy. Have a Tim too, but he's not getting much use right now. I had sent my Timmy back to Paul to get the pots changed out to the same ones Tim has, since I favored my Tim more. Paul tweaked it just right and this is one pedal I will never willingly part with. btw, the newer Timmy's will now have the same pots as the Tim. At least that's what Paul said on the Gear Page forum a few weeks ago. Meaning it'll have a little more clean headroom. I thought the older version was a tiny tad bit fizzy. The new Timmy is perfect. Actually sounds better than my Tim now.
And yes, it's worth the wait. |

The Tim has an added boost stage and an 'effects loop' on the back which was intended for putting an EQ back there for extra tweaking options. Of course these extras account for the bigger box that the Tim comes in. Timmy is smaller and therefore preferred by those who worry about board space. Personally, I rarely use the boost on the Tim anymore and I've never used 'the loop' so little Timmy is all I need.
So to sum it up a little. I had a Tim that I liked very much but wanted the smaller Timmy. Got the 'old version' of Timmy and loved the size but thought it a wee bit fizzy in places. Not quiet as clear as my Tim. Sent it to Paul recently who changed the pots and sent it back in a weeks time. New Timmy sounds even better than Tim! Two great pedals made by a very nice and humble guy. |

Looking forward to add to my small pedal farm!
I ues the Maxon Compressor a Maxon AD-999 or Alisis Nanoverb, I like Spring Reverbs but I find the Digital Alisis has more control and is smoother in sound. I use some OD unit at times to add a little hair when needed, the tim will be it with my 18watt EL-85 Bonepicker single 12 combo. |
