Any Durham "Sex Drive" Users?
Thinking of purchasing, but don't know much about it other than what is on the website.
All feedback (no pun) is appreciated. Thanks http://durhamelectronics.com/ |

I use one, the Sex Drive, it's a great unit but I've had a couple issues. Sent it back once, they replaced the footswitch, now it's getting funky on me again. I'll have to hit the footswitch a couple of times now and then to get 'er working.
That's the bad news, the good news is the Sex Drive sounds great, works as advertised and is very usable in a live setting. I guess i should just buy a few footswitches amd replace them when it's needed 'cos I really like the pedal. The boost and gain features work just as stated, sounds like me only louder, hits the front end of the amp in a good way, gives me boost and sustain for solos, clean to slight grit depending on your gain settings and amp volume. |

I've been thinking about a couple of the Durham pedals lately. Ther's a new pedal he designed with Doyle Bramhall 2 called the "Crazy Horse" that I'm anxious to hear.
Stephent2, I was thinking of either a Sex Drive or Mucho Busto for that "just a bit of hair" overdrive sound. Apparently the "Mucho Busto" takes over gain wise where the Sex Drive leaves off. Do you have an poinion on which pedal jumps through the "bit-o-grit" hoop better?

Uh, oh.... I can feel the G.A.S. building already. My wife's gonna hate me when that DB2 pedal comes out! Has anyone heard any prototypes for that pedal yet?

+1 for the Sex Drive
I like mine a lot - but do not like the Busto at all. Sold mine very shortly after getting it, just way too buzzy and compressed IMHO. The compression on the Sex Drive is very nice, extremely subtle - but it's also nice to be able to switch it off.

Love it!
I've used one for over a year now and it is always turned on, on my pedalboard. The best pedal I've found in years.

I use one in front of my Victoria 12" Champ and am very pleased. I tend to turn it off when the singers working- it helps me blend in or stand out, as the situation requires, without changing my basic tone too much.
I still haven't sorted out the compression settings, but I've only had it a few weeks. Nice pedal. |

I've had one for about a year now. I use either a 22 watt DR ,a 50 watt EL84, or a 50 watt 6l6. It works great on any of these. It's probably the best pedal that I have found, maybe ever. I tend to be disappointed by pedals but not this one.

I had one, mainly because of listening to Redd, but i like the RC booster a liitle better, it has a little more control EQ and gets the same boost with a little hair quality.. the EQ really helps with single coil tele PUPS. (fattens for leads).
