Have you ever owned a Boss DS-1?

I was talking to another guitarist about distortion pedals. The question was "Has almost every guitarist at one time owned a DS-1?" I say yes, he says no even tho he has owned one. By "Most" I'm thinking at least 75%. Have you ever owned one?

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I owned one. I also had a Dimension C that I wish I had kept.

I had one in the 80's. Then later I picked up another that was made in the mid 80's. They were OK, but never really fit my style too well. I also had one of those Boss Feedback pedals back in the 80's. It looked similar in color. That was pretty cool.

'Twas my first guitar pedal. Hearing them now, not quite impressed. But, not bad!

Had one (many years ago) for as very short time as it said "Distortion" on it, was cheap, and I was trying out dirt pedals, not knowing at the time, that I really wanted an OD pedal...did not care for it at all, and sold it asap- it happens!

I have one I bought used. I have used it maybe 15 minutes in the last couple of years. Its not worth selling a $20 pedal so I just keep it.

Okay, I guess that's better than some tragic childhood thing where Santa never brought you that dirt pedal that you always wanted...

My Santa issues steam from the little red fire engine he never brought me. Thanks for making me remember that scaring issue of life.

Yeah I used to own a MIJ DS-1. Nothing terribly exciting about it, good or bad. There are other pedals I would buy over it, and if it came down to it I would still pick the SD-1 over it in a pinch.

Still own one but like others I have replaced it with OD pedals, sits on a shelf now. Considering modding it...
