Anyone tried the new ZOOM G2?

Looks like quite a lot of bang for the buck...

Anyone tried it yet?

I got one . . .

I ordered one and had it sent to me while I was on vacation. I saw the pedal on eBay, but it looks like a small company that does a lot of their business there. Here's a link to the auction I won:

Zoom G2

The free cord and shipping were great. The pedal itself is really a niced unit that can be used intuitively - a quick look at the manual will get you started. I haven't had time to get into the nitty-gritty of the unit yet, but the presets are quite nice. It does have a few more heavy distortion presets than I'll ever use, but lots of the others are quite effective. The drum machine is great, and the whole thing seems easy to adjust for whatever needs you might have.

My kid has a Digitech RP-200 that doesn't sound nearly as good as the G2 - plus, the RP-200 is much more difficult to handle (IMO). The G2 is very quiet and switching to different patches is pretty fast.

I really liket the unit, so far. It may just become my only pedal for my home setup.

I got one too...

In fact I took it on holiday with me...

I bought it without trying first but turns out it is a very nice unit for the money - impressive value, good sound quality and decent build quality.

Shame it doesn't have a better display so editing and recalling patches is a bit fiddly but at the price you can't argue...

Only thing that caught me out was no wall wart came with it (having had Pod's, V-amps etc I kind of assumed the PSU would be included which it wasn't - in the UK anyway) but I used rechargeable batteries on vacation no problem.

There are a bunch of reviews on Harmony Central now:
