Best 4 Pedals?

I'm putting together a new rack. I have a 70 reissue Les Paul and have just bought my first American Tele.

Here's what's in the rack:

Lexicon PCM91
Eventide h 949
DBX 166XL
Klark Teknik 410 Parametric EQ
WHITE INSTRUMENTS 4700 1/3 OCTAVE
Alesis 3630 Compressor/Gate/Limiter
Sabine RT-7000 Rack Tuner
Behringer Dualflex Pro Sound Enhancer/Exciter
Art ps4x4 power conditioner

Now the question is what 4 pedals would you add to this?

I'll add one, and I'm not joking or trying to be insulting in any way. I would get a looper pedal so you could remove the rack or pedals and go directly to your amp when needed. But, you really need to tell us what you're using for an amp first!

Sorry, should have put that in. Fender Stage II with 1x12 and a Fender 65 Twin RI.

Also looking at a crown or crest power amp going to a 2x12 cab that will be just for dry feed.

Whoa,

A WAH PEDAL - definitely a Wah.

Otherwise, I can't really help ya... but I saw this post and was floored!

For our non-pedal inclined I'll translate the not so obvious items:

Lexicon PCM91 = Digital Reverb
Eventide h 949 = old (70s) Harmonizer/Pitch Changer/Delay/Flange/Chorus
DBX 166XL = Compressor

You may also need a pit crew in case something goes down... I've seen larger racks (hehe), but for me, that's still excessive!

I'm a One guitar, one amp... and maybe, a Wah and a backup guitar kinda guy :)

Yea, it's kind of a serious rack

I've added my first pedal an analogman TS-9 with conversion and I've added a Crown XLS-202B power amp.

Though I am a player, my background is as a live sound engineer so I'm more comfortable with rack gear. The rack gear is a bit over the top but it does give the best quality of sound for my playng.

I'm also thinking of getting in to the business of building custom road racks. This might end up being my demo unit.

I'm with JohnnyCrash...I'd pick a wah as the pedal of choice.

Of course...if you're really asking my opinion (and I'm not saying this to be insulting) I'd sell your entire rig (except the guitars) on eBay, buy a good amp, and a couple of pedals.

I haven't heard from anyone that has a rig like yours in a LOOOOOOONG time! Honestly, I wish there were more of you around. I remember the good old days in the 80's when people were ditching their Marshalls, BF Fenders, and pedals and buying rack mounted switching gear.

GUITARmole,,
I did pick up a Russian Big Muff and will add the DMC pedals and switcher. If I'm lucky it's only going to take a few weeks to get this whole thing built. It's going to go in to a couple of 14U road cases. When it's done I think I'll have one monstor rig to take in to the sudio or on the road.

The rig right now is:

Les Paul 60 RI and an Amercian Strat guitars
Fender Twin Reverb and Stage II amps
Crown XLS 202 amp
Lexicon PCM91
Eventide h 949
DBX 166XL
Klark Teknik 410 Parametric EQ
WHITE INSTRUMENTS 4700 1/3 OCTAVE
Alesis 3630 Compressor/Gate/Limiter
Sabine RT-7000 Rack Tuner
Behringer Dualflex Pro Sound Enhancer/Exciter
Art ps4x4 power conditioner
analogman TS-9
Russian Big Muff
2 Port 10/100 Ethernet Switch
