This. Plus I decided to get organized, which meant collecting all the pedals I had laying around and putting them in totes for easier storage. Some pedals had been laying around for a while so I figured might as well clean them up while I'm organizing them.

Are you married?

No - I could but apparently I do it all wrong.

It's like washing-up. My take on that is I bought and installed the dishwasher.

+1 And if Q-tips are too big, try tooth picks.

Is a tooth pick a pick made from a tooth or a pick with little teeth on it?

These are important questions.

It probably wouldn't if you let them dry completely... but I'm pretty sure that he was being facetious (and doesn't bother cleaning pedals.)

Just make sure not to use lacquer thinner unless you like pedals with no graphics.

+1 although I find a green handle is easier on the eye. For even better results hold the nozzle of your vacuum near the brush as you go - this prevents the dust from simply recirculating around your room.

The added bonus for the addition of the vacuum is your wife/partner will think you are doing housework! There is nothing sexier for a woman than than the sound of a man cleaning.

Dust cleaning off pedals, and defeating static noise, brother stop in your local electronics or camera shop and buy "canned air" with a little direcitonal straw and long reaching soft brush, should do the trick. Any so it goes.
