OD Suggestion for Fender Bassman RI

I have an old Fender Bassman RI with the blue Eminence Speakers from 91/92 with a Telly.
I´m looking for an new OD Pedal which delivers me the Black Crowes/Stones Crunch Sound.
I tried a Catalinbread Formula No5 but it doesn´t sound very authentic through the amp.
Any suggestions but not Les Lius, Wampler Tweed 57....
And no... I coundn´t turn the amp all the way up
Suggestions for a good OD Pedal which fits to the Bassman?

I always loved the FN5 through my Bassman, but I see you've already gone that route. Did you try running the pedal on 18v? It tightens up the bass and sounds pretty authentic to my LTD, but ymmv. The Wampler sounds pretty good to me, but I haven't played one. A lot of folks seem to like the Red Llama for the tweedish vibe as well. I'm currently intrigued by the Zvex Box of Rock. The lower gain settings seem pretty close to the Bassman distortion, so you may wanna try it out as well.

A bit strange in English but the rest of you wants to know too.
Theres the Distortron from ZVEX which is the Box of rock without boost, but the sound
goes straight in the Marshall field. My bandmate has a Cmat Brownie in front of his
Bassman and is as happy as can be, expensive though. I'd go in the Boss Corner and
try the Bassman or Deluxe reverb pedal in front. The FDR1 even has reverb and vibrato
on board. 119 each.

I was always pretty happy with the overdrive tones I got from my old Bassman RI using a TS9 or Crowther Hotcake - particularly the TS9 for that Keith Richards/Black Crowes gnarly sort of grind.

Rat. Set the gain low and the volume high. It pounds the hell out of the front of Fender preamps and gives you some sweet sustain.

I may be crazy, but I could swear I saw a picture once of Keith's rig and it had two tweed Twins driven by a hidden TS pedal. If so, then that would be a good place to start. I have a Green Screamer that I have never liked too much through the Bassman, but I'm about to try it again. Haha

Try out a Fulldrive, Rich Robinson has used one of those for a long time.

For Keith tones turn the amp up to about 6 or so and smack the strings hard. Or possibly consider a clean boost like a Zvex SHO or Fulltone Fat Boost. You can also dial in some Keith like grit with a Crowther Hotcake into a tweed amp.

Also of note both these guys are tape delay users which helps thicken their tones and add some space.

I should have said in my previous post that I tended not to run too much gain on these pedals, using them mostly as a clean-ish boost instead.

I used to play those amps. The speakers can make a lot of pedals sound a little nasel. I had my best luck with a TS-5, and later with a TS-9. The TS mid hump actually works well with the BMRI and can help you get some of the tones associated with the other tweeds.

TS 9 sounds good, in the old "ask keith" feature on his site, he says he plugs straight into the high power twins live...stadium volume helps..

HIgh Volume is the best, but if you want that high volume OD at low volume dBs, get a boost pedal, something like an MXR Micro Amp, Seymour Duncan Pickup Boost, Bad Bob, on and on and on. just don't spend too much, cause for the most part you are just pushing the amp's natural characteristics. It's just waiting there. Bassman has fantastic drive sounds.
