I like the T.C. Electronic Booster+ Line Driver & Distortion, the Ibanez DL10 Delay and the Ibanez SC10 Stereo Chorus.

MuTron Phasor II. I love the sound of it. It's too big to use really. A friend has it's brother, the Envelope Filter. I wish he'd sell it to me.

I've got one from either '76 or '77 (has the "pre-'78 knob sweep"), going from this pic on Kit Rae's site:

Mine has the BC239 transistors, the weird combo of carbon film and carbon comp resistors, and the cheapo tropical fish caps that folks get nutty about.

A pic of a board with the tropical fish in lower RH side:

It had the super duper ultra cheap electro caps for C6 & C7, just like in the pic. The one in the pic has some weird blue clipping diodes. Mine doesn't have those. The single carbon comp second from the lower right - mine has that. And lots of the "red body" carbon film resistors (vs the more common tan ones that you primarily see in that pic). For folks who think the tropical fish (or "vintage" big tan disk .1uF caps) are a big deal, mine had a couple of cheap greenies like in that pic, too.

Going by the picture you can literally see that EHX used whatever was lying around/available in the shop. What you can't see in the pic was the terrible tan "solid core" telephone/generic use wire that they used - maintenance is nearly impossible without snapping a wire off. So "vintage vibe" be damned - I replaced all that crap with proper stranded wire.

The plastic pot shafts were all warped, so those had to be replaced. There were no knobs, no box bottom, and the top was so mis-shaped that it couldn't really be re-formed again.

Ron Neeley (who owns/runs Ronsound) was kind enough to provide me w/a NYC RI box that looks fairly road rashed, so it looks kind of period-correct. I would like to get some Daka Ware knobs for it, though.

The good news is that even with the maintenance that required replacing many "vintage" parts, my 76/77 sounds better than ever. It's too big to put on a pedalboard, and my scratchbuilds sound way better, but it is fun to drag out and use from time to time.

That's pretty cool!! I haven't had the chance to open mine up in depth because one of the pot shafts wants to come out when I try to remove the knobs. I would like to hear how yours sounds since it has some different parts than normal V3s

90s DOD=Vintage?

If so....I have a Juice Box ("swet and"pulp" I think) that I leave on almost all the time. It's a GREAT mild overdrive.

its hard to believe but it is edging up on 20 years on those dod boxes. considering these are devices we stomp on(at least toe tap) that is a long life. I say that in context of course. compared to the absolutely antique stompboxes that survived the 60s and 70s, these are poorly built(battery cover, stomp switch, knobs) and much more complicated.

I had a few from the 80's, so that is going on 30 years! After repairing the stomp mechanisms multiple times, I just went to another type of switching. After shorting a couple of pedals out and ruining them because of the little 1/8" jack, I replaced them with the standard Boss PSA-tip type.

The early 80's ones had plastic battery hatches that fit like a glove. By the later 80's, the enclosure machining quality had gone down, and the plastic hatches didn't fit as well.

The enclosure itself is pretty cool to repurpose and stuff other pedal guts into, but if the original type jacks are gone, it's a problem. The box is very shallow, and only the original types will fit. The other issue is that the holes for the pots are pretty close together, so you can't really use big knobs on the 3 knob or greater pedals.

There's something about the old DOD stuff that is generic and cool at the same time. IMO, the newer Digitech stuff just looks 100% assembly line, even the Hardwire series stuff. They just look "corporate," right down to the logo. It's probably just nostalgia in my case.

It is noisy and I don't use one anymore but I love the Maestro Stage phaser. It just looks cool with the huge speed and balls wheels on the side.

Not sure if you can see them, but the Small Stone phase shifter in the bottom center and the first-issue Big Muff in the lower right are my favorites. The other pedals are all originals too, but those stand out for me.

The Vox ValveTone overdrives are pretty cool, too. I'm not sure if they're old enough to be considered vintage though.

Univox Super Fuzz was my first pedal. Ran my Univox Hi Flyer thru it. Both are long gone. But I do have a cassette tape of me sounding REALLY BAD with that rig (my playing, not the pedal). If I ever come across a deal on one, I may pick it up to hear how I sound NOW with it. Not much better, I suppose...

I distortion box I really liked was my DeArmond Square Wave. For old times sake I thought about trying to buy one. I found one for sale in New York for $400. I was a pretty good fuzz box back in the day but come on, that it is silly. :D

My old giantic silver AC powered Morley Power Wah is great. I replace a cap in it in the 80's and it never sounded the same though. I used to cover REO and the power wah nailed it. I still have it but It win't fit on my board I running one of the smaller Bad Horsie pedals.
