Where to place a fuzz in my chain...
Just got a fuzz pedal and was curious as to where to place it in my chain - in front of everything including my Boss TU3 tuner, or further down the chain with my other drive pedals? Here is my chain:
TU3tuner> Diamond Compressor > Tim > Joyo UD > Tremolo > Nova Delay > Rv7 reverb > amp Thanks! |

depends on the type of fuzz. Most of them like - or rather need- to be first. definitely before any buffered effects, and ideally not next to one on the output side either . Makes a massive difference to the sound and the dynamics. Big Muff on the other hand does not exhibit such fussyness . Though i don't regard Big Muff as a 'fuzz'. Sure ; it is, but its different enough to be regarded as a Big Muff, not a 'fuzz'. And is anything but dynamic...

I have, after much experimentation, placed my NYC Big Muff (80s model) at the end of my OD/Dist chain (Green Rhino, MXR '78 BAD) before my MXR Smart Gate, from there it goes to my Wah, then into my Fender Mustang III for MOD, Delay & Reverb effects.

To reiterate:
Putting your fuzz before any buffers is always the best choice. That said, I'm still a fan of "try it in all possible spots and see which one you like." Do what your ears tell you, not what the intarwebs tell you
