No one GAS'ing for the Golden Cello?

I am. This thing sounds like a magical "tone in your head" box. Chances are I'll be disappointed, but GC's return policy makes this a must try for me.

My current set up is the best tone I've ever had, so it will take a lot to move me.

I think it's a cool idea, maybe not something I would use a lot, but cool.
I thought Eric did a good job on this demo in case you haven't seen it.

Yeah, it looks really cool, but 200 bones cool?

I like the idea of an OD/delay combo pedal. That's not something you see everyday, but I think I'd just as soon have 2 different boxes.

This being said, hurry up and get one so we can know fer sure!

If I wanted just one pedal, this might do it. Otherwise, I have this already.

I just saw this pedal in a catalog the other day. I was going to ask the same question. I haven't seen it in the store. Does it sound good?

Person 2: "It's....cool..."

Person 2: "Yeah bro, 200 bones cool. Bringin THE TOANZ with the bones."

Person 1: "Aahhhyight then. Say hi to your mutha for me."

Your post literally made me laugh out loud. My wife just got confirmation of her suspicions that I'm crazy, haha

It sounds like Eric Johnson in a box but I've sworn off any dirt pedals for a few years. I'll keep using the 2 Wamplers on my board and not listen to any mores demos of it.

Well, I must admit, I dreamt of the day 11Gauge would quote me.

Never thought it'd be like this though!

Is bones a weird thing to say?

For the record I don't say bro or homeboy

(or any of that other stuff, bro)

No, not at all. I refer to all that stuff - bones, skins, pony up.

I like all that stuff.

There was a track and field qualifying thing on TV yesterday, and they referred to one of the "non-star" runners as "the man in the green shirt." I asked if he was related to the man in the yellow hat, and my daughter laughed.

200 bones cool reminds me of triple dog dare. Good stuff.

It also sounds like a bit of a Tufnel-ism, and they are great.

I think some of my choices in language were because I'm a bit excited that we aren't that far away from the next season of Breaking Bad, and it sounds like something that Jessie Pinkman would say, or maybe Saul Goodman.

I can't believe there was no comment on the Wahlberg-ism.

No - 200 bones cool is a keeper. It's colorful and is super descriptive as far as a price limit, simultaneously.

I wonder what BJFE / Mad Professor will have to do when they run out of colors and flavors to name the pedals?

Invent colors/flavors, I guess...

I really thought this pedal would spark more interest....so many folks love EJ's tone...this sounds like it might get pretty close with one pedal...oh well, gonna check one out tomorrow.

When you figure a delay and OD/Dist in one box, I don't see $200 as outrageous...sure it's limiting, but that's a lot in one small footprint pedal.

BJFE/MP/Bearfoot/etc. seem to not have a big hit beyond the hot ones from a few years back. I know the higher gain "honey line" (depending on who of those 3 is actually building it) is kind of drawing interest right now, though...

And Dunlop has done such a great job with the EJ sig Fuzz Face...

So this one may take awhile to catch on, or it may not go far beyond the "seems like a good idea" phase for many folks.

I don't think the Stone Grey Distortion turned out to be a big deal, either. It's kind of interesting what (technically) was done with it. That was a fairly recent offering, and lots of folks don't even know about it.

I have no opinion on the price, one way or the other. Actually, many of the ideas that Bjorn implements are kind of interesting, compared to what are found in many other pedals.

We also seem to be at a point with these specific pedals where two things seem to happen:

- someone traces the circuit and the DIY crowd builds their personal derivatives

- Joyo et al comes out with a clone for less than half the price

There will probably be customers like the guys on TGP that buy everything from BJFE/MP as soon as they come out, or any other company's stuff, for that matter. But that is a small fraction of people, I would think.

I've also witnessed that July tends to be a "shopper's period" with pedals (and other gear). By shopper I mean someone who doesn't really have their board ironed out for the summer's gigs, because it is not applicable to many of them. They are just shopping...experimenting... Many pedal companies with the $200+ pedals that are expected to get put on a board and used for gigs usually get rolled out earlier in the year. And it's not uncommon to see more of the "bedroom pedals" debut right now - the "ultra metal" pedals, the "less practical" EHX-ish designed stuff...

These are just my perceptions, but they are based on how I've seen things "go down" year after year.

You need to make a pedal called the Rusty Trombone before they do.

I thought gearmandude's real name was Jack.
