Best Looper for live acoustic shows???
I've been planning on doing some solo live acoustic gigs....basically just guitar and vocals, and I was thinking about adding a bit of accompaniment parts, or the possibility of playing some lead on top of my own rhythm work. Any suggestions on a fairly versatile and user friendly looper?

Boomerang III
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaexUZ2ZFkc good, quick description of some of what this pedal can do. (mine is at home waiting for me in the box!!!) If $$ is your issue, I used a Boss RC-3 and eventually graduated to an RC-50 (the RC-50 also lets you plug in a microphone for other instruments or for voice overdubs). There are many things you can do with both, but keeping it simple is the best rule no matter what you choose to do. ESPECIALLY when you get started. There are "newer" Boss loopers now that sport a 3 hour memory - MAN - you can preload a multi track entire set! People here like the Jam Man as well, but I have not played with one. The Boomerang is apparently the easiest intuitive live looper

Aside from the price, I'm liking what I see on that Boomerang....looks like it has the user friendliness down for live situations

Hmm, some really great suggestions here....but I'm getting more and more interested in the Boomerang. Might have to keep my eye out for a used one

The Rang III is perfect for live use, and sounds excellent. However, there is a serious learning curve on using it. It realistically takes several months of playing with it to start getting a comfortable feel of how it works. But once you get it, it is INsane!!

a freeze is not really a looper.. unless you consider it a .1 sec loop
i was a beta tester for the boomerang 3. its the best thing in production for on the spot loop creates. if you want to store loops and play them back later like backing tracks look elsewhere.
