MXR Classic Overdrive
I had seen and wanted one right after they were discontinued, and I saw one on guitar center used online. Ordered it on a whim, seeing as it was only $40 and the biyang copies are $60-$70. Anyone had any experience? Looking forward to another NPD!

Plus it has the internal switch that configures it similar to the MXR GT-OD (the green MXR Classic OD, new, is in this mode) or the MXR Zakk Wylde OD (if the MXR Classic OD is cream-colored it is configured in this mode) I think it is a great TS-value. edit: either GC/MXR Classic can be switched to sound like those pedals- just saying how they are distributed, new. It's just a different EQ arrangement: 'Zakk Wylde' has less mids and a little more mids; 'GT-OD' is chunkier and more TS-like- good sounds either way!

The switch is on the top of the board... So, you have to pull the board down out of the case. Which means removing knobs and nuts and such.
I will say that for years I tried to find a TS pedal I liked. Some were just too muddy to me, or maybe I just wasn't playing loud enough? I dunno. But I tried one out back around Xmas time when they were on sale for 29.99. Took it home and before the next weekend was out I went back and bought a second one. If I am going to a Blues Jam and taking my own amp, and don't want to not take my pedal board, I grab one of my Classic Overdrives. I will say I like it best with my Blackface amp as opposed to my Brownface amp. The Classic Overdrive works for dirt and grit and cuts through the mix well. It is a good Tubescreamer with a good bit of boost and a lot of gain available. Both mine are the cream ones, I like them just as they came out of the box. It does sound best when pushing the amp pretty good... But, isn't that what Tubescreamers do best anyway?

It's a very nice pedal.
Nice organic crunch. You can still hear your guitar tone. I like it a lot. When that pedal was $29 at GC it was one of the best (short lived) GC deals ever. I think you'll love it.
