MXR carbon copy help

I just picked up a carbon copy delay today. I started messing around with it using long delay times but when I try to do short and fast it just feeds black like crazy.
What am I doing wrong here?
I was trying to play Police Truck by the DK but i can't even get the delay close.

The pedal oscillates if the feedback is set too high, especially with shorter delays. Try starting with the feedback low, and then turning it up.

Edit: By feedback, I mean the regen knob, sorry for this..

It does pickup truck dude, trust me... anything east bay ray does, it does... everything I've heard eb ray do

Set the "regen" knob at or below 12 o'clock. That controls the amount of repeats. Analog delays feedback and self oscillate when the repeats are set higher.

I've got it set to the "slap" setting that comes in the manual and it just takes off.
I think I must have a faulty one or something.

Do you use it on battery? I know powering it with 18v changes the rate of the knobs, but it may sound like you have a faulty one.

I didn't try it with a battery...

That sounds faulty if it's feedbacking at that setting. You should probably return it if you can't get it to work. I'd recommend getting a ehx memory toy if you don't want to try the CC again. Exact same specs and controls, and I haven't had any problems with mine. Good luck!

My CC messed up too. I took it back. I ended up with a Way Huge Aqua Puss. It does slap back better.

I just did that.
I'm on my way out to the shooting range. But when I get home I will post the results
