Another BBE Supa Charger Question. Help needed quickly!

I just brought home my BBE supa charger and I still noticed hum/hiss when using 8 pedals. When I used my 1spot I had the same, maybe even less hum and buzz. Why? Please help!

The only way to help if at all would be to know what kind of amp pedals guitars and pickups you are using, even then if you are applying any kind of boost in gain you are going to have some hiss and hum.

I tried a strat and an sg. Stock pickupa on both. Bugera V22 amp with new tubes. But the hum and hiss are still there even with the Supa Charger, just as much as the 1spot.

is it annoying when you are playing or only when you stop? if it's only when you stop then honestly you probably don't have anything "wrong", you could probably try a noise suppression pedal of some kind, or you can can try shielding your guitars, checking every solder connection in your guitars and, cables, amp and even your pedals, your mains power. the possibilities are fairly endless and you could spend a week just reading about it on the internet.

if you really can't stand it and have to find it probably your next step is to remove pedals and cables one at a time until you are guitar direct into amp and see if that takes care of it, if that doesn't do it try batteries in your pedals and after that try taking your stuff to another building entirely and see if that helps.

another thing you can do if it's only when you aren't playing is turn the volume off on your guitar.

I have a noise suppressor, and it is only when I stop playing. The Supa charger was advertised as having no.hum or buzz though and my 1spot actually has LESS hum and buzz. I have gone down to just one pedal and tried 1spot vs Supa Charger and I have found less hum in the 1 spot. I tried different cables too.

did you try direct into the amp? or try the noise suppressor as your only pedal with a battery? as far as i understand it if the hum is coming from something other than the circuits in the pedals, like a bad ground or something, then your power supply is not going to have any effect. it can be a very tricky thing, you are not dealing with a hi fi electronics here, and if you aren't playing clean then there is always going to be some hum and hiss that's just the nature of the beast, if you are "boosting" in any way then you are going to boost whatever signal there is.

you probably want to take your gear to another building entirely.

Im playing clean, but my problem is why spend $120 when I can use my 1spot that was only $30.

The BBE should have quiet operation, no guitar setup is "hum free". Every little thing can make a buzz. Did you try different cables into the amp directly from either guitar ? If it still hums then it's the amp. You're going to get hum no matter what you do, I honestly don't believe you need the BBE. I plan to buy a VLPP2+ because I need the 12v feature. If you only need 9v power and the hum from the 1 spot isn't bad, just return the BBE and use the 1 spot. It worked before, and it should keep working.

there's also the possiblility you don't have real clean power that you're amp is plugged into. Mine at home will buzz or hum a bit, in other venues it'd daid quiet.

Sound to me like an issue with the power source. The first thing I'd do is try out a different electrical outlet.

Are there florescent lights where you're playing?

^+1 Most likely cause. Been using the BBE for 6 years without a problem, but have run into noisy power outlets on occasion.Set up your rig at a friends house,rehearsal room or any other location and see if its still noisy.

I had the same thing happen to me. I used to use a 1spot without any noise at all. I put out the cash for a SupaCharger, hooked it all up,, and more hum than with the 1spot. However, when I take it to church(where I mainly play guitar), there's no noise at all. The BBE doesn't like my houses lights and electric outlets. Just something I deal with now.

If you are playing in a room (in a house or garage) it is more than likely that the outlets are all in one circuit, so the noise would persist. I would also suggest plugging into the same outlet that the amp is plugged into. Make sure that the amp, if it is a 3 pronged power cable, that the ground is intact, so as to make sure there isn't a ground issue.
