It would be great for doing a gig when you need to take a quick bathroom break!

No Joke, I want one BAD!

From what I read, you can hit like a final note or chord, press the button and it will keep going... You can then unplug your guitar and walk off stage....
Come back, plug back in and tap the button and keep going!

Sounds like an awesome gimmick! Nobody has heard of it yet, so it would be a cool stage effect... at least until everyone gets tired of it...

I can see using it to get that long Santana type sustain effect.

I fear that one day the OP will chance upon a looper!

Or if you just needed to think about something else for a while.

Bill Frisell mentioned that he will freeze a chord/notes and then tune his guitar during another players solo. Cheeky.

These showed up
where I teach. I
heard the guys who work
the sales floor fooling around
with one. I was underwhelmed.
Why not just get a looper?
It does what the Freeze can do, and more.

The Freeze is more like a piano sustain pedal than it is a looper. So, in that regard, it's kind of neat. Obviously it works well in ambient or drone type music too.

I got one when it came out(a year ago?). It's a cool idea, I just didn't have much use for it, I guess.

Most guys use it as a 'drone' type of accompaniment tool.
Awesome when you're playing in a trio. Super easy to use. You just step on it when you want that note or chord to hold. It's like a 40 mm sec delay that 'latches'.
Here's a great vid:

The only problem I see is that when I want something this bad, I get it and after the excitement wears off, I find I never use it and it ends up on craigslist at a greatly reduced price....:)

A mate of mine has one and uses it frequently. He does ambient stuff so it's quite a useful tool.

I'm actually pretty interested by this . . . .

The looper pedals I've seen all seem a bit too complicated and feature packed for my simple tastes.
This could be a good compromise.

Just one question: In the blurb they mention a "momentary switch". Does that mean you have to hold it down with your foot the whole time you want the note, or whatever, to sound ? . . . coz, y'know, that could be a little bit inconvenient.

I'm pretty sure there are a few modes, one of which is what you describe. Another is a latch mode, just press the button when you want it to freeze and go about your business.
