What are your favorite dirt pedals to stack together?

I've been reading quite few posts lately about players stacking overdrives and distortion pedals.

What do you like to have on your pedal board together and also on simultaneously?

Do you like mid-boosty pedals stacked with transparent pedals?
-or-
Do you like 2 transparent pedals stacked?
-or-
?????

Edit: Please try to mention something about your settings
~Thx

+1 on the rat. Sound awfully good with an OD boosting 'em.

Catalinbread DLS and a Wicker Muff. Talk about classic tones. I turn those two on and play Kosoff licks for hours.

The DLS and Formula 5 are nice too.

CB Formula No5 into CB DLS. Still rich and thicker sound with DLS mid boost.
TS into Barber Small Fry. Gives some more midrange to already thick and smooth sound of small fry
Red llama into green rhino. Like FN5 into DLS but more compressed and modern sound.

I've lately been using a Zen Drive type build after a GNI vintage Distortion / Fuzz pedal.

ZD with all knobs at 1 oclock, lower on the volume, and the GNI on the distortion side only with the distortion low, 9 oclock...

SO my next question... Why does this sound better? Anyone know the technical answer?

Is it like 2 soft clipping stages that are just adding more overtones? or something of that nature?

TS+TS = great saturation sound (ts1 pre gain on 2)+(ts2 gain on 3oclock)
I am using
Snapper+TS
but
TOD + TS is great too

Really enjoyed the MIJ DS-1 > Klon clone > JC120 last night! I may stick with this combo for awhile! Might add a Boss FB-2 to the mix cause control-able feedback would be a cool thing through a solid state amp!

I've just started messing around with this. I kind of liked my bad monkey after my boss fz-5. It seemed to round out the fuzz while keeping it hairy. I think the bad monkey was set with the level around noon and the gain at about 1 or 2 o'clock. I think the fz-5 was on either the fuzz face or maestro setting with the fuzz around 2 o'clock and the level around 10'0clock maybe. I forget exactly.

Big Muff w/ Tone Wicker (actually both tone and wicker off) into Joyo Vintage OD (gain NULL, tone 9 o'clock, volume for personal taste). Probably any TS 808 would make it.

All of them on my board, in different combos!

Which is a little overboard maybe at 4 different ods, set more or less high to low in terms of gain -

Catalinbread Formula #5 > Subdecay Liquid Sunshine > Timmy > Way Huge Pork Loin

A bit of a balancing act but I can add shades of dirt and *slighty* increased volume (cause more dirt without a at least a little more volume sounds wrong to me) bringing each one into the equation. They're all more or less full frequency, not mid bumpy, at least how I have them set. Pork loin is on usually always on, and the Timmy generally gets the most stacking time into the PL. Love stacking!

Live I use a Jetter GS3 which is a "two in one" stackable gain pedal that works wonderfully. But recently I discovered a GREAT combination by accident--an Analog Man modified TS9 reissue (modified to TS808 specs) into a BB Preamp. What a range of great sounds!

Two ts-style pedals to really cut through. In my case the GT-OD and Joyo's Vintage Overdrive.
