Help with 2 a/b pedals
I have a loopmaster true bypass/a/b pedal with a recieve and send and a input/output. I also have a DOD a/b pedal with an "a" input and "b" output and a "com". I have a Line 6 floor pod and a Zoom studio rack along with a pedalboard. I need to have just amp and pedalboard, then be able to turn on just pedalboard/amp and floor pod. Then just pedalboard/amp with the rack effect. Any ideas?

I've been lurking around this topic since you posted and I can't seem to come up with a solution for where the output of the ZOOM rack effect goes. You need just one more input for the output, and with your gear it's just not there.
This will require some of your hard-earned cash, but it'll easily accomplish what you're after: http://j.mp/wO10mt

Sounds like you need something that can switch a couple of loops.
I might have got it wrong, but are you looking to switch from: Guitar -> Pedalboard -> Amp to either of these: Guitar -> Pedalboard -> Pod -> Amp Guitar -> Pedalboard -> Zoom -> Amp If so, you can probably make up a fairly simple switching box to do this that could sit in between the pedalboard and the amp. You need an enclosure with 6 sockets (input, output and two lots of send/return), a pair of 3PDT switches and a few LED's/resistors. The first switch will be a master bypass - when off, your signal will pass from input straight to output (Pedalboard -> Amp). When engaged, it will be connected to the next switch, which will switch from Loop A (Pod) to Loop B (Zoom). Use a couple of LEDs to show which loop is engaged, and you will be able to set the loop you wish to use (Pod or Zoom) and then switch it in or out as you wish. You'll never be more than two clicks away from the setting you want. I hope that makes sense - it's something I was sketching out recently to let me switch between my two main drive pedals or a bypassed clean tone with one click but haven't had time to build it yet! |

If you had another loopmaster (or similar True Bypass loop pedal with send/return) you could just use the two loop pedals with the POD in one and the Zoom in the other. Wouldn't give you the 'one-click' bypassing but would be near enough.
The DOD is no help to you in this situation as it will only switch one input between two outputs (or vice versa) - like switching your guitar between two different amps - but it has no way to switch an input and output simultaneously. |

You'll need a buffered out from your pedal board and maybe some good luck, but you can try:
Guitar -> pedal board -> looper -> y cable -> both inputs of the line6 and zoom -> DOD back to looper -> looper out to amp This way the looper turns on both the line6 and the zoom, and the DOD selects which output gets sent back to the looper & amp. You'll be splitting the signal and loading it with either the line6 or DOD... So it may sound terrible depending on your pedal situation You could also try it with the a/b switch selecting which input gets sent to the looper, but then either the line6 or zoom would always be connected to the amp, which could cause noise, hum, loading issues, etc... |
