I leave it on all of the time. Sounds excellent, well built, great customer service.

Barber tone press. Love their stuff. Can be clean and subtle or super squish, and sound great either way!

DynaComp does the job for me for gigging. Cheap, small, and gives a classic squish great for a cover band. I was using a borrowed Keely two knob for a while, and if I wanted an always-on tone enhancer, I'd probably get that again. Great sound but subtle.

Biyang Compress X 10. Love it!

11 Gauge was raving about it, saying it was like a Dyna Comp only better, true bypass and more. I now own two of these Biyang compressors and I'm VERY happy!

I now have two Dyna Comps for sale. The Biyang X 10 is just perfect.

Wampler Ego Compressor. Really great blend knob that mixes your dry signal with your compressed signal.

I am using the Seymour Duncan double back, which does the same type of thing. I like it.

Right now, an old pre-Dunlop block logo Dyna-Comp, but I'm building a kit opto-comp. And if I can get a circuit board, I'm going to build the Craig Anderton one from "Electronic Projects for Musicians." A friend built one in the '70's and it's still one of the best comps I've ever used, especially with a Tele (and a Twin Reverb).

Compressors are like a box of choclates you never real know what you're gonna get till you use one.

My BOSS works fab with my Tele but kills my Les Paul Jr Where as my Bheringer doesn't work well at all with the Tele but sounds great with the LP Jr.

That's all,

Gary

Dyna-Comp with the Monte Allums mod. The mod made it a bit more tube-ey, rounder, just better sounding. I like the Dyna a lot, but I know there are spendier and probably better options out there.

Barber Tone Press, always on in my OD chain/channel

DynaComp Script, in my clean chain/channel

Try to choose a compressor based on your style, other effects and desired use. As other have said its hard to choose until you are using one in your rig. Hence the reason I have bought and sold several.
