anyone have BYOc Octave fuzz? How to boost gain or bias?

Hi All,

I bought a BYOC octave fuzz on fleabay - the gain (or bias) must be wrong as its really 'drainy' and gated. A bit like a flat tyre. The octave is not quite right (neck pup on strat).

there are no bias trim pots in it... is that right? There are three silicon trannies - 2n5088 (actually, on is a 2n5087 or something).

How can I bias or get this screaming? There is surely something wrong...

thanks

I figured it out - warning to all - the OLD BYOC octave fuzz circuits have the 2n5088 trannies the WRONG way around on the schematic.

simple as that...
