Best Overdrive Under £80
What do you all reckon?
Judgeing on Tone, Build quality and price. A few contenders I could think of were; Tubescreamer Boss SD1 Digitech Hardwire Tube Overdrive Digitech Bad money. NOBELS ODR-1 Natural Overdrive Joyo Vintage Overdrive Biyang OD-10 Same of those aren’t up there with boutique drives but there value for money makes them great. |

I'll take you well under £80: DOD 250 or MXR Distortion +
Essentially the same basic circuit, but both sound awesome. Yngwie to Randy to Jerry and everywhere in between.

Bad Mokey = best value overdrive. However it is a tubescreamer type with mids hump. (some love, some don't) If you prefer a flatter EQ try Marshall Bluesbreaker II or Boss BD2

I like the Blues Driver (if you want transparent) and the Green Screamer (if you want a TS-like mid hump).

What's happened to the Dano Cool Cat? My V1 TOD & OD are superb.
Haven't tried the V2s but the demos I've seen on youtube seem to suggest they're OK as well.

If youre realy lucky you may just get one for £80, but that's a long shot. OCDs are going around £97 Mind you, there are some good deals out there though. The other day I missed a Diamond J Drive which went for £74

I have a blues driver on my od20 and I really like it, does low gain without sounding to knarly which is my complaint with the marhshall, it breaks up and sounds cheap. |

Within the £80 price range one could get the Digitech Hardwire Overdrive which is very good, but is the bad monkey just a cheaper version that sounds the same? |
