OCD with more 'cut'?
Hey,
I've recently got hold of an OCD, which I love - you can get nicely saturated tones but without it turning to mush and, if you run it at 18v, you can get a nice dynamic drive. The only problem is I'm finding it doesn't 'cut through' that well... I'm using a tele into a PRRI and I know it's quite a scooped sounding pedal, which combined with my amp isn't helping. I can get it to 'pierce' but by then it's too shrill, and, obviously I can turn the volume up, but my band is quite quiet (we're an indie/americana/wilco-esque outfit with acoustic guitar as the main instrument) and it gets too loud... So I was wondering about something similar with a bit more 'cut'. I've got a Barber LTD Silver which I use for light 'on the edge' breakup, and was thinking about another LTD or Direct Drive though, to be honest, I only really think I've got a Fulltone/MXR sized space on my board, so it'll need to be that really... I know I need more mids, but I'm not looking for a 'bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeesssssss' tone so tubescreamers are not really my thing... Thoughts anyone? |
