Monkeylove!

I've literally tried hundreds of different overdrive pedals through the years. And yet I always seem to come back to my trustworthy Bad Monkey!! It sounds great with nearly every amp and guitar I ever had in my hands. I really think it's one of the nicest Tubescreamer clones available, especially for the price. And the added bass knob ensures your sound doesn't lose any low end (as with other TS-style pedals).

Any more lovers of the Bad Monkey here???

I work it in and out of my chain. Its a pretty cool pedal.

There is something about it I dont "love" though. But I like it.

screamer-like pedal for a reasonable price. Many people love it.

Its the warmest 808 style overdrive out there,so through a clean and bright guitar /amp combo it really sounds nice! It also sounds amazing pushing my OCD over the top, better than alot of overdrives I've tried.I've found the Monkey comes to life through a loud stage amp,not so much in the bedroom.I like the Monkey!

If it wasn't a major tone-suck to my signal chain, I might have kept mine :)

With a separate bass knob for a bigger bottom tone on your guitar.

Monkey love!

I think it's the best overdrive made for under $50 USD new.

Yes, that pedal exceeded my expectations and I love it, however, I recently switched to a Hardwire Tube Overdrive CM-2 because it seemed like it was very similar, with some slight improvements. The CM-2 is twice the price, but it's true bypass and not as muddy as the Bad Monkey in my opinion. The muddyness was the only problem for me with the Bad Monkey. I had a hard time dialing out the mud. Other than that, I love it.

So I was playing with my ODs today. The Monkey just lacks a clarity that I want. Particularly when playing chords. Sounds pretty nice when playing notes.
