Pedal Board questions

Hello all,
I am new to this forum.

Anyways I have a few questions. I going to soon put together my pedal board and I had some questions.
At the moment I only have two pedals. I know I will need a pedal board soon, but I am not sure which one.
Here are the pedals I already have or that will be on it:

TC Electronics Nova Drive (Already owned) 12v DC 300ma
EHX Cathedral (Already Owned) 9v
TC Electronics Nova repeater 12v DC 300ma
EHX Ravish Sitar 9v
EHX HOG 9VDC/500mA AC
TC Electronics Poly Tune 9V DC
EHX wiggler 12VAC/1000mA
Vox Joe Satriani big bad wah 9V
EHX Soul Preacher 9.6 Volts DC 200mA

So here is what I need help on. These pedals will take up a lot of space and I want 3 expression pedals and volume pedal. So what Pedal board would be good for this? I want something tough, because it will be taken places a couple times a week. I don't care about weight that much. I have been looking at the pedal train pro with the flight case, but I am wondering what good DIY options there are for pedal boards. In a studio I know I have seen a homemade pedal board with a case, but the maker and owner wasn't there at the studio that day so I never got to ask them about it.

Obviously these pedals have a variety a power needs. What is the best option for that? Should I get an 8 plug in voodoo lab and then plug the weird ones into a strip underneath the board? Also EHX pedals say in the Manuel not to change the power supply, but that is ok if its to the same voltage yes? (sorry I don't really know I am assuming...)

Also some pedal selection help.
What is a good volume pedal? Which one do you guys like? something sturdy that is smooth that isn't unreasonably expensive...

Also what are some good expression pedals? Hoping there are some cheaper one that do the job.

Aslo with the EHX HOG and the TC Nova Pedals just how much more essential is having the extra extension pedals?

thanks guys for helping me out. Sorry I am new to a lot of the pedal stuff and I am definitely still learning.
shalom,
Rugrat

Make cardboard cutouts of the pedals you have not yet got and lay out on a table with the ones you have, you should be able to work out the size of pedalboard you need, together with pedal positioning for ease of use and cable routing.
Be sure to allow room for your plugs, (pancake type may save a bit of space).

Pedal Power 2 could be used it has a mains output you could use for an aux power supply. Maybe look at the T Rex Chameleon which has a 12V AC output.

It's really worth while taking your time and putting a plan together, may also save you $s or £s by not investing in something you regret later.

Pedaltrain are light, durable, cost effective, and easy to use.

For planning purposes you can use this website http://pedalboardplanner.com/ for Pedaltrain boards.

I use a Dunlop Brick for my power source. It fits under the Pedaltrain with some modification, but it is specifically made for Voodoo Labs.

My experience with EHX power source is if its a funky looking connection, use their power source! I zap strapped a power bar on the front of my Pedaltrain board specifically for plugging in the Brick and the EXH, works like a charm! With the power bar still attached it fits in the soft shell case with room to spare.

Good luck.

They are missing a few major brands, but that's a pretty awesome app. Thanks for that link. I've been running out of ways to waste time!

Hello,
Thanks for the responses.

The cardboard coutouts are probably a good idea. I had been looking at the pdel planner last night... and they don't have ehx... apperently EHX has been slow to get onboard with that.

@stevics
thanks I hadn't heard of the T-Rex Chameleon before it looks like an option.
I completely agree with you on planning and getting something good even if it means a wait. Thanks for the advice on planning.

@73telecaster
So what kind of mod did you do to make your brick fit?
Yes the ones I am most worried about powering are the EHX ones specifically the wiggler and the HOG. The wiggler drwaws a lot of power, because of the tubes... I think all the other pedals are fairly normal. Not quite sure with what the scoop is with the soul preacher. It says 9.6v and 200MA.... I wish I knew more about electrical currents and such.

So you guys seem to like Pedal Train. Any suggestions on volume pedals? or expression pedals?
thanks again :-)
