Ho...the Boss DD-3 is a mainstay pedal....its been around for years...can be found on pro and weekend warrior rigs alike....the Digitech X-delay is a tremendous pedal too....its a little more ambitious than the DD-3...built solidly...and sounds extremely good....if you need a basic delay pedal without alotta bells and whistles...check out the *short-timer* by Rocktron....sound wise its a real winner...easily does slap-back to longer *ballad* type delays...very inexpensive too.....later, spyder

Danelectro PB&J
Just got one of these recently , used , under $40, pretty cool unit, has switchable long and short delays, I know it's cheap, plastic, but I don't "stomp" on my pedals, so it should hold up fine.
Sounds as good as many high $ delays I've owned. No experience with Boss other than an RV3, which is decent. |

Boss DD20. It costs around 180 USD but it gives you great sounds, tap function and the possibillity to store five settings. The delays are superb IMHO (with the exception of some of the weirder types). Superb for live work.

I heartily recommend the Ibanez ToneLok Delay/Echo. Great price (around$70US) and in addition to the DDL, it'll do a pretty fab impersination of an analog delay, including self-ocillation with the feedback cranked. Plus the knobs can recess so the settings won't get changed during transport. Yay!

I use each of the following interchangably, post- gain pedals, pre- clean tube amps...
1) PB&J (always on, set and forget) 2) DD5 w/Ext Yamaha Momentary Pedal (for tap tempo) 3) Digi-Delay

I have a DD-6 (ramped up DD-3) and think it does a nice job.

What would you guys pay for a new DD-3? I have been seeing them on Ebay going for over $80 and if I am going to pay that much, I'll get a new one. I think MF has them for a little over $100 new.

Well, and if you add shipping you are right there. I would say it is up to you if the $10 is enough to cover the 5 year coverage issue for you. For me the new with coverage was worth it.
