Sanyo Rechargeable Power Supply

Hi - I did a quick search here and didn't find much.

Anyone using this? Are you happy with it? How long does the charge last for the number of pedals you are running?

If you're at a gig and the battery runs out, I read that if won't work with the charger plugged in to the battery. Bummer. Can anyone confirm?

I'm interested in this unit to power a small board. One of my pedals does not like AC power (Fulltone GT-500, noisy plugged in, dead quiet with batteries).

I don't know if it was here or on the gear page but i asked the same question about playing with it plugged in and someone replied that they specifically tested it and it didn't work. Not quite solid evidence but some solid hersey

I bought one three months ago and it is great. As it loses power the green light goes to yellow and then to red, so you know when you're running low. I run three pedals off of it (tuner, delay and overdrive) and sit holds a charge for a very long time. Wish I had bought it sooner.

I'm planning on getting one myself, I have been waiting for the recently-announced black version to become available, and I see that it is in the stores now. Just waiting for one of those GC 20% off sales to come around again!. It will be great to not have to worry about hooking your pedal power to funky bar wiring and all the problems it can cause. And it puts out a lot of juice, too.

This post interested me so I googled "sanyo power supply" and found this.

http://www.guitarnoize.com/blog/comm...-power-supply/

The first sentence made me laugh. SONY not Sanyo!!!

Anyway my interest was in voltage drop, because as we all know a drop in voltage will not help your pedal tone.

Rather trust a good independent power supply.

I don't understand your comment about voltage drop, are you looking for something to drop voltage (like a "sag" setting"), or are you talking about voltage drop from plugging your power supply into funky wiring at clubs or something else?. I don't think there are any voltage drop problems with the Sanyo device.

Oh yeah, I just caught what you were talking about with the reference to the "Sanyo" Walkman!. A bit of a goof there!
