Mini Q-Tron...anyone have one?

I'm considering buying an Electro Harmonix Mini Q-Tron.

I want it for playing some funk stuff.

Does anyone have one?

Any opinions?

I have one and like it. Its close to the mutron sound, and mine at least sound nice and phat. Mine is the only one I have ever heard, I don't know how consisitent they are.

I'd also suggest you lokk at the Guyatone WR-3 wah rocker- its a little tiny thing, but sounds real nice.

I've been using a Mini Q-Tron on my pedal board for about 6 months now and I like it a lot. I'm always searching for something better, but I've yet to come across an envelope filter that is more responsive to my pick attack than the Mini Q-Tron.

Supposedly, EH is coming out with some sort of rack mounted filter, but I've only seen advertisements for it, none in stores yet.

I've also wanted to play around with a MoogerFooger filter, but I can't find one of those in a store either.

I do like to run a compressor after the Q-Tron, to help keep the volume spikes in check. It may be just the way I set it.

Maybe Joel Terry will pop in here with a comment on my filter tone, as he's played a few gigs with me when I used it extensively.

Been investigating similar stuff. The two pedals that have really impressed me are the EMMA Discumbobulator and the Pigtronix EP-1. Not cheap, but, man!

Don't know about the Mini Q-Tron but I recently tried out a Doctor Q and it was sounding like my ideal funk box. Listen the samples on the EH website (ehx.com) for an idea, it's cool.

Well, I got the Mini Q-Tron...

and I'm giving it 2 thumbs up!!

Good Texan...I'm Running a MXR compressor after the Q-tron to even it out a little as it can really spike depending on your pick attack.
