joyo pedals ?
New Member here . Does anyone have any experience with joyo pedals. I am waiting to receive a couple I bought from Ebay. The look good and they sound pretty good and the price was right. Here is a site that has sound samples of the pedals. http://guitar-alley.net/effects_-_joyo
Thanks for a great forum and hope to hear from you. Rey |

I just bought one. : p
It's called Vintage Overdrive and is supposedly a TS808 clone. It was only $35. There is hardly any info on them... ANYWHERE. It should arrive in about three or so days, so I may come back with some info on it then. All I can say about it right now is that I like the visuals of the pedal. I've been needing to get that damned DS-1 off my board for the longest time. : ) |

They are believed to be Harley-Benton (music store thomann brand) pedals, but sell outside thomann. I mean thomann sells Harley-Benton, others sell Joyo.
Take a look: http://allegro.pl/joyo-jf-01-efekt-g...559277968.html http://www.thomann.de/pl/harley_bent..._overdrive.htm http://allegro.pl/joyo-jf-10-compres...533195679.html http://www.thomann.de/pl/harley_bent...compressor.htm http://allegro.pl/joyo-jf-3-crunch-d...566347389.html http://www.thomann.de/pl/harley_bent...distortion.htm Same names, same graphics. True bypass, solid metal case and said to be copies of nice effects - kinda V1 Danelectros. Said to be great value for money. Unfortunately I've got no experience with them. I've got no more info now, but it should be easier to find some info/vids/stuff using Harley Benton or Joyo brand name. The same effects, but Harley Benton only in thomann.de |

I received my Joyo Vintage Overdrive today and I have nothing but good things to say about it. It's a very good overdrive that keeps good clarity with full chords. It sounds very much like a Tube Screamer, but I haven't got one of those on hand to do a thorough A/B test. This is by no means a substandard pedal, and really, for the price... I will be recommending these things in the future. The problem is that I have only seen one for sale in my entire life : /
If you can find one and you would like to experiment with a new OD pedal, but don't want to go broke, this is certainly the way to go. I learned from the packaging that Joyo does have a website: http://joyochina.cn/newEbiz1/EbizPor...tml/index.html I can't vouch for their other effects, but I'm willing to try out some others from going on the quality of the Vintage Overdrive. |

Their descriptions are pure comedy.
Here's the description of what I assume is an OCD clone: "is intermedate between distortion and overdrive, different from the normal diode clipping circuit. It could create more active redundancy, and effects of electron tube amplifier and complex harmonic spacious sound." |

If their the same company as the Joyo clip-on tuner clamped on my Tele's headstock right now on my lap as I type this, its a Chinese company. Didn't know the made pedals, cool.
Their tuners, I use this one, works fantastic, everytime I broke one out of my own fault, I get a new one in a heartbeat.

They're just another Asian brand like KLD that use the exact circuits found in the OCD, TS, etc

The Joyos are the pedal that the other company is repainting, adding a few resistors too (or not?) gooping over the original designer's name and date, then selling as boutiques.
I believe the Joyos are knockoffs, but not in the blatantly illegal and smarmy way as the other banned pedals are. |
