Trying to marry my new comp 66 with board.

Hey all,

I just got a Comp 66 compression pedal. Love the pedal. I have a BOSS Blues Driver and it doesn't seem to marry well with the comp 66 as the 66 has gain and tone controls seemingly identical to the Driver. Any advice as to how i may be able to get these pedals to work in harmony? I love the drive that the Blues driver gives given i have a solid state amp, it can really dish out that tube sound when i need it. Anywho, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

IMO sometimes pedals just don't work together...I actually find it quite often...I may be very picky. I don't like to stack and such, and I find that comps are sometimes best on their own and actually take away from dirt pedals that provide their own compression.

Natural od from a decent tube amp is how it all started. Pedals enhance what a good amp does best. IMO (not dissing ss at all)

Had the same 2 pedals man and I sold the bd2, no matter what I did they didn't work together. The only godsend for me was I had the rt66 that had o.d and comp together. Ended up selling that as well, I loved the comp but I thought the o.d. didn't work well with the comp either and they were built together. I always found that rt 66 to have some weird noise anomalies going on.

I have one of those Comp 66s and I think it sounds great. I think most people put a compressor before their overdrive. Then you get your normal overdrive signal but thickened up.

Rte. 66 is an od/comp combo. I was looking at it, but I don't have any use for a compressor...... Yet...... I think...... Maybe I'll go to..... I gotta stop!

I had my Comp 66 in front of everything, but it messed with my Danelectro Cool Cat OD which was next in the chain. Just didn't like the sound of them together. So-o-o, I put the Cool Cat first, then the Comp 66 and I love the sound of them both on that way. The only issue now is when I engage or disengage the Danelectro, I get a "popping" noise I never had B4. Anybody know why???
