About Positive Grounds...?
I recently ordered a germanium transistor Analogman Sunface. The pedal itself is wired to positive ground but I choose to have an optional 9v power jack put in so it would work with a traditional power supply. I read on their website that it is not recommend to have a power jack since in order to work with a negative ground power supply, the pedal must be wired to negative ground. It went on to say that oscillation and "motor boating" sounds are common when positive ground is wired to negative ground and that your tone may suffer as a result. Does anyone have any experience with a problem like this? Or know how tone might be affected by such a mod?
-Thanks
