i had a vox for a while, but i thought it sounded too thin and the highs were too nasal. ive heard, not from experiance, that the vox clyde mccoy ones are a bit nicer though...anyway, i ended up with a dunlop jimi hendrix wah, im not trying to get hendrix tone or anything, im sure you could get it, but, its your basic crybaby that sounds a little thicker...-john

I did a lot of research on this forum before buying my wah. I ended up getting a (Chicago made) Thomas Organ Wah off of ebay and I couldn't be happier. I've never had another wah so I can't compare it to anything. What I do know is that the build quality is good, the price was right, and it's got a nice wah to it. The only thing I did was convert it to true bypass.

An exceptional old Thomas Organ or Italian Vox is the shiznit, if you can score... among current production, nobody on the planet knows wahs & has painstakingly researched them like Geoffrey Teese - they're consistently the best in my opinion. I've played Vox 847, various Dunlops; Q's & Crybabies, Fulltone Clyde, Buddah. Choice for me is the Teese Picture Wah, but there's a Teese wah model that's been fine tuned to nearly every taste. Not cheap, but easily the best that I've found. Whatever you do, make sure your wah is true bypass! They're otherwise the ultimate tonesuckers.
