DD-20 Owners???

I own a DD-20 i can't possibly speak any higher of this pedal if i tried its truely fantastic..
I have often wondered why most professional musicians choose the Line 6 DL-4 over the DD-20 when in so many forums the DD-20 seems to edge out on top??

I think the only thing i dislike about the pedal is level knob... I love the way it sounds when its cranked up full...the repeats are so full and distinct than if u were to set it say 3 o clock, however it boosts a major increase in volume when turned on than the volume i set my amp at when its turned off..
i know its probably supposed to do that but i was wondering if anyone knows a way around this or has even experienced this?
