Way Huge Swollen Pickle Noise?

Could anyone with this pedal tell me if theirs is noisy? I play it with the Crunch and Scoop all the way up. When it's on, there's a good bit of hiss in the sound. I have the Proctavia which is a type of fuzz as well and it's dead quiet on all settings. I LOVE the SP, but the noise is a little annoying; Especially if it's not supposed to be there. It doesn't really bother me until I try to play it with my guitar's volume down quite a bit. Then it kind of gets in the way. It's like this with or without other pedals in the chain and whether or not I use batteries or a PS. Any help would be appreciated.

I know this probably isn't much help, but why get a quiet fuzz?? Just seems a bit boring and contrary to the idea of fuzz in the first place...

Anyhoo...you might try gating it. Just pair it with a noise gate pedal and you should be ok.

I just don't want the thing making noise it shouldn't. I like the "noise" to be the effect not just racket caused by the pedal when my guitar's volume is all the way off. Like I said, my Proctavia is a fuzz, and it's wild and glitchy and all that great stuff, but dead quiet as well. I couldn't imagine being able to record with my SP for instance without a noise gate which kind of sucks.

I like the scoop and crunch about 3 quarters of the way up.
Loudness at 2 o clock .
filter and sustain at about 1 o clock.
No noise issues from mine, I am really into it!

Hmm. Okay. Well, it's nothing I can't live with, because that pedal is just awesome. Thanks for the replies guys.

Sounds like the Proctavia has an internal gate...looks like it's research time for Andrew!
