JangleBox for 6 string Tele work?
I'm looking into the JangleBox, but I mostly want a Tele compressor. The JangleBox has the extra 12 string trick, so I was hoping it could cover enough ground to be my only compressor. Any thoughts?

Well, the JangleBox has a switch to turn off the "jangle" part - and then it is nothing but an MXR Dynacomp, so it should work for you (that switch actually controls the single cap that makes the difference between a Dynacomp and a JangleBox...)

Someone on this forum did it with a Barber Tone Press. Now they have the Silver Jangle Box for $185 so the choice is yours. Personally the Dynacomp worked for me with the Rics I had.

The Janglebox has a "Bright/Normal/Dark" switch - in the normal setting it is like a Dynacomp; basically, the Dynacomp boosts the treble a bit before the compression stage of the circuit, and cuts it again after that stage (probably to get less noise) - what that switch on the Janglebox does in the "Bright" setting is getting rid of that treble-cut cap after the compression stage (so the treble remains boosted), and in the "dark" setting cut out the treble boost before the compression stage. |

I've been using a Janglebox for about 3 yrs. bought it for the Ric 12, but I also use it on the 6 strings too. RomanS's description of the switch is very accurate. I leave it on the bright setting so it will jangle up the Ric but that setting also works for my other guitars.
I never play a gig without it. Thought it was a bit pricy when I bought it but once I had it I didn't mind the price. PS: I also got the +pin power supply when I bought it and keep it powered from my pedal power supply.
