Zoom 505

Someone gave me a Zoom 505. I tweaked it at home and got some good settings. I found a really good one for "Every Rose Has Its Thorns" and "Gimme Three Steps". I even set up a couple of good clean ones with delay, etc.

Keep in mind these were at very low bedroom levels. I had rehearsal on Wednesday night and took my regular full blown rig. I had rehearsal again Thursday night and was tired so I grabbed my guitar, Zoom, and Peavey Special 130 because the Zoom seemed to sound better with it than the DRs.

I hooked it up and it really sounded good. I even cranked it up to see if it would come apart. It didn't. I mean it sounded better on some songs like the first mentioned one than anything else I have. I must admit it doesn't have the clean tones as my DR and delay but it certainly held it's own in this setting.

I have not really heard good things about these Zoom pedals but I have to say I was impressed. It wasn't noisy. The tone didn't fizzle away at the end.

Any thoughts or experience with one of these?
