TS9 (unmodded)

Most of the boutique stuff out there is some kind of knock off of the TS9 and IMO sound no better (some not as good).

I just bought a 71 reissue tele made in japan. Very good guitar. I have a fender deluxe reverb amp. Together with that i have a T-rex comp nova compressor and an MXR Carbon copy delay. My overdrive is an mad professor Little green wonder. We are now starting a country rock band. we use to play 50īth rock and blues before. I donīt feel the LGW is not to my like for country. What do you people suggest instead of LGW for overdrive? Iīve been looking att the mad professor Sweet honey. We play tunes from Brooks&Dunn and Vince Gill as a sample. To cfatch that sound, what do you suggest?

I've had great experiences with the MI Audio Blues Pro OD and the Fulltone OCD.

I vote for the Radial Trimode. Two American type distortion in one box. Second channel has an effects loop so you can add a delay, EQ or whatever you want. Sounds great IMHO, I've had Ibanez Mostortion, Keeley DS-1, George Dennis GD230, Boss BD-2 and Russian Big Muff.

My 2cents

I'd suggest the Bad Monkey coupled with your AC4's tone knobs. If you need more gain, I'd suggest Boss' DS1. Each pedal can be had for less than $50. If you're willing to spend the cash, try out Fulltone's FD2.

I have a Ibanez Ts9 Tube Screamer that was modded to an 808 that I am very happy with. I have also heard good things about the "Bad Monkey" on the forum

Looking back in the thread, I didn't seem to find any reference to attenuators. Is this built in, or external?

With what you play, you have two choices. Classic Rock? No doubt, Fulltone OCD. Metal? Any of the high priced overdrives promising you that metal distortion. Or...you could go (almost) full up on your tube amp and go full up on the OCD. However, if you go full on your tube amp you better have a power attenuator to handle the volume. THD Hotplate is what I use. Use the 16db setting for bedroom practice, but 8db or 4db (you gotta drive those speakers) at a gig depending on the room. Yes, I use OCD and actually have a blues screamer overdrive, but you just can't beat the ambience of a tube amp cranked.
