Check out their site
Go to the Line6 website. They have user-submitted settings for specific songs. There's even a search engine where you can search by artist, song, or style.
You can either download the settings directly to your POD, or if you're not set-up to do that, they give all the settings in long hand, so that you can manually dail it up.

Lots of options...
Stevie used a lot of different amps, and fortunately, a lot of them are modelled on the Pod 2.
My personal fave amp model for copping the SRV vibe is the tweed deluxe (which is known as "Small Tweed 1" on the Pod). In fact, most of the Fender models are a good place to start (with the possible exception of the Twin, as it doesn't tend to break up as well). You could also try the older Marshall models (the JTM 45 and the Plexi specifically). Stevie used a Dumble to record Texas Flood, and there's one modelled on the Pod. You'll just want to avoid the really high gain amp models like the modern Boogies and the Soldanos. SRV's tone was more about power amp distortion than mega preamp gain. General tips would be: - set your drive high enough to be stinging when you lay into a note, but it cleans up a bit when you ease up on your attack. -don't scoop out the mids. while this might sound good alone in your bedroom, mids give body to your tone and help you cut through when playing in a band context. -use as heavy a guage of strings as you can handle comfortably. You don't have to jump up to a set of 13's like Stevie used, but bigger strings will beef up your tone. -use your strat's neck pickup. (not all the time, but Stevie tended to favor it when he was playing his grittier numbers) Hopefully, this will give you a nudge in the right direction in your tone quest. Later....

pod update
thanks again for the tips, guys, but just like to say the pod broke! i had it about 4 days and it started to cut out. i took it back to the shop and it cut out as i was showing it to the line6 rep, which was a relief because these things dont usually go faulty in the shop. he had no more in stock so i got a refund, but it has hardly filled me with confidence to buy another
