What's the pedal you wish someone would invent?

I mean, besides the elusive talent pedal.

Here's mine: a two-knob pedal with presence and sag.

What's yours?

A telepathic tone / volume changer, that works off subconscious thought control, and is always two bars ahead of your needs.

I heard Behringer just brought one out for 4 bucks, but, while early reviewers admitted it changed their lives entirely, they were uncomfortable with the branding, and potentially the quality of the jack socket ;)

More seriously, I dont think there is a need that I have for which a pedal does not already exist.
But then I use a Morley wah pedal - occasionally, and .. thats me done.
(aside from the amps OD channel switch, and a teeny bit of 'verb)

I have an Electro Harmonix Stereo Memory Man that has a setting that allows your to step on a button and it will play the last eight seconds of whatever you have been playing in reverse. I would love it if someone took just this feature, eleborate on it (maybe longer play time) and put it out as a single pedal. Also a footswitchable beer dispenser would be nice........

modulation and reverb / delay

I wish someone would make a good sounding easy to use pedal that has reverb, delay , chorus/flange and phase, something like the old Ibanez units where its like a couple of stomp pedals in one unit.
I change OD / distortion pedals a lot, but it would be cool to have the other effects all in one unit, other than in the typical multi effects like Boss, Zoom etc...

A pedal which backmasks the guitar so that you can play accurate psychedelic solos.

A pedal with 4 or 5 treadles (like on wah pedals) that plugs into any existing pedal and lets you adjust the knobs on that pedal with the treadles.
eg: plug it into a DS1 and then set the tone, distortion and level throughout the song. Imagine how cool that would be on chorus or delay, changing the depth, delay time etc with the treadle!
Think of the possibilities!

the "unclip"

a clean boost that somehow would allow you to get more clean headroom out of a small tube amp...

a small sized pedal that would be a sample eq box that had memory card card slots for samples that could be mixed into the signal path.

I'll mention that they have a pedal that will control your other pedals called "The Third Hand". Which looks pretty cool.

My suggestion seems probably pretty stupid and obvious but for a tweed Bassman player like myself a combination reverb and tremolo pedal would be so freaking cool. 5 knobs, 2 foot switches. I know I can just combine a reverb and trem pedal I like but I aim for minimalism when it comes to gear. So one pedal on the floor to me is much better than two.

I would want a GOOD integrated phaser/overdrive. I think that is one magical combo and I'd love to have it as a single effect rather than two seperate ones as, to me, it is "one sound". I've shared this idea with Mike Nelson from Boomerang....hopefully they build it!

I need a pedal with "threshold" and "voltage" knobs that will automatically deliver an electric shock to the drummer whenever he/she speeds up.

I'd take a manual mode too just for kicks.

LOL That is what I need. One that plays the tone I hear in my head. What's in my head and what comes out of the amp are never the same.

A delay pedal that sound equal to or better than a tape based dealy. Or if they could mass produce that device Neil Young uses, the Whizzer.

A pedal that makes my bandmates understand the idea of "feeling where I'm going" so they can go where I'm feeling.

Or just a good looper so I don't have to deal with the bandmate issue.

Damn, some issues Joe?

:)

Have you tried a Big Muff?

Seriously, I want a mind control pedal. One with a flashy-light thing like the pens in the "Men In Black" movies. At the exact perfect moment during my solo's, I could step on it, "flash" the crowd, and have all of the attractive young ladies start pillow fighting in their undies.

Yeah, that's the pedal I want...

A distortion pedal that is actually good and costs less than 300 bucks.

Oh, and Andy Timmons' tone in a box.
