Electro Harmonix Deluxe M.M.
I have the D.M.M. I think from the 90's, (it has the hard wired plug) and it drops the volume in my pedal chain. I herd there was a mod to rectify this. Can someone point me in the right direction.
Or I can sell it and grab a another delay/echo unit. Don't get me wrong I love the M.M. and the sounds of it but that signal loss is heavy. |

I have one and it doesn't do that but it's only four or five years old. Are you saying that it drops the volume of everything even when it's off just by being in the signal chain? Or when it's on? In which case can't you just adjust the LEVEL knob?
I love mine and use it about half the time. It has a unique sound, very musical. If you like it otherwise and can't remedy the problem you might consider getting a current issue one. Or try a Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai. It does a whole lot more for less money - $214 - including being a looper. It's digital but a couple of nights ago I carefully dialed in one of my favorite Deluxe Memory Man settings and got extremely close. (I have them both on my board.) And you can save the setting, which is an obvious benefit of being digital. It's also smaller. The flip side to its amazing versatility is that there is a bit of a learning curve. |

The DMM is the one pedal I've held onto for the (albeit brief) four years I've been playing. Other pedals have come and gone, but that big silver box is still with me, and I can't ever imagine selling it in another four (or forty) years. If you like the sound, there are plenty of techs/effects builders who can look at it for you - Analog Mike does a DMM mod, and he's really passionate about vintage gear.
