Anybody got a Boss TU-1000 ?

I saw these on the Roland site, and was wondering if any of you guys have one and could tell me anything about it?

Sure it's big, but it's still only about half the cost of a new prescription and a new pair of glasses.

There's gotta be somebody using one...?

I considered one of those (TU-1000). Didn't want to spend that much money just for me. Yesterday, I bought a Korg Pitchblack pedal (PB-01) for $90 (less a $10 mail in rebate).

Well, I saw the Pitchblack video and didn't like how it works.

Today I ordered a TU-1000. I'll keep you guys posted.

I saw Johnny Hiland at the Dallas Guitar Show perform with one. Surely, it has the same tuning "accuracy" as all the other Boss TU tuners.

Between my ears and my TU-12H, I seem to do fine. The TU-1000 is too expensive for me and will not tune my guitar and faster than the one I have IMHO.

I am sure that this is quality and everything, but I would never feel like I needed to lug it around for anything other than show. There is no reason to have something that big on stage with you in my opinion.

Actually, it's a lot more accurate than the TU-2. The TU-2 has a 3Hz rating and the TU-1000 is rated at 1Hz.

It doesnt cost any more than the Strobe pedals that everybody raves about that can't be seen in the daylight...the TU-1000 can.

I wanted something easier to see during gigs, and maybe not having to go right up to it to use it.

Just because some of you guys don't want one doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it.

I'll post a review when it comes in...

....and maybe even pictures....

.....maybe.

......if you guys are nice.

I'm starting to wonder if tuning "accuracy" is subjective...
I have more than my share of electronic tuners, and since I use standard tuning 99.9% of the time, I'm content with most tuners.

16 1.4" wide... just small enough to fit on the top row of a pedalboard jr...

No wonder they call it a stage tuner... dang thing will take up the whole stage!!!

Well, I guess I'm gonna find out. I've already planned to do some comparisons with the TU-1000, my TU-2, and my TU-12H.

Update:

The new TU-1000 came in today, and it's a beast!
It comes with a power supply and a cable for hooking up several other pedals to the main unit.

First Impressions:

This thing looks impressive. Even turned off, it is lit up big time. and the Boss logo on the back/plugin side is all lit up, too. It's easy to use and has two different kinds of display modes. The display is very bright and easy to read even from a distance.

The tuner itself seems a little more twitchy right near being in tune than my TU-2. Since I haven't worked with it much yet, and I'm not used to it, I'm going to guess it's because of the much higher accuracy. Chords sound dead-on and quick to find out if you're off tune or not.

One thing I don't like is that when you get dead center, the tuner "freezes" while the lights zoom to the center. I'd rather it stayed active.

Like I said, I don't have much time on it yet, I'll keep you guys posted. So far, I really like it and would recommend it.

Used the TU-1000 at church service yesterday. Easy to see even while moving around, quick to get a reading, and the tuning sounded good.

I like this thing. Sure it's big, but that's one of the things I like about it!

It's like having the bridge of the Enterprise on stage with you.
