Dano Cool Cat Joy......

I had the CTO-1 Transparent OD and the CO-1 Drive (the Timmy and the OCD) and I just bought the CV-1 Vibe.

The Vibe is pretty good. I think it has more rotating swoosh than the BBE Soul Vibe that I had (and I'm a true BBE fan).

Knobs for mix, intensity and speed.....I was playing some jazz on the Nashville Tele this evening...nice warm swoosh. Very warm. Paid $38 new to a ebay guitar shop. Such a deal.

I wish they would make a Cool Cat Compressor.

I wish they made a compressor and a reverb.

Any other good ones??

John

the trem is supposed to be nice.

the fuzz is another boutique clone. some like it, others dont. It's not muffy or a fuzzface- it's its own thing.

I agree on the trem, although I'd add the caveat that it's good "for the money." I just sold mine and bought the BBE Tremor and am much happier as a result. It's got better clarity of tone.

But for the money, the Cool Cat Trem is a decent pedal.

Having said that, I love my Cool Cat Drive. It's a great sounding pedal, period, not just "for the money."

I've got the same three pedals - the Transparent Overdrive, the Drive, and the Vibe. The vibe is wonderful. The OD pedals are good, too. I think Dano has really come up with a good series here.

I'd like to see them do the Fab Echo as a Cool Cat. I like the Fab Echo for slapback, which is all I want from a delay, but it is such a flimsy thing.

I dig these as well.

I have 6 of the Cool Cat pedals demoed on http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...3D056184FD3680

Have a look if you haven't seen them.

I agree with "for the money", but I just couldn't bond with the Drive(too raspy) and my Trem died after 3 weeks. Tried the Fuzz and the Distortion...no thanks. Personally even "for the money", I'll pass...but I'm sure many folks have had better luck with them.

Supposedly it's a Frantone Peachfuzz clone. Don't have a FP so I don't know about that.

I liked the vibe, but I could not tolerate the huge volume boost when kicked in. I have the trem and Transparent OD. Pretty cool.

The Vibe does have a serious volume jump, but there appear to be easy mods easily found online...

Rotren's demos sold me on the vibe particularly used with the Transparent OD ..very cool tone.

I've been set to pull the trigger on the TOD, the drive, the Vibe and the Chorus on separate occasions ...but somehow always end up getting something else.
I always do extensive demo/review/forum research before choosing a pedal and there's something about the sound of these that I just don't like, even after watching all of rotren's demos with his quality gear...I dunno, they cheapened the sound somehow IMO. Not crazy about the physical design either. I know they're built to a price and can't argue with the value for money aspect of this range but personally, I'm glad I passed on them...even though it ended up costing me more.

I agree,if they where only housed in a square, mxr type box Danelectro would sell billions of em'.
But the top mounted 'knobs on a half shell' look like they belong in a Sponge Bob cartoon.
I'm sure they sound great though!

I've got the chorus, the trem, the distortion, the drive and the metal 1. I like them all but as far as dirt goes, nothing beats the metal 1 - it just has a huge warm tone with an outrageous volume boost on tap - but it's more EVH or Billy Gibbons sounding than "metal". Apparently, the circuit is based on the front end of a Fender solid state amp. I actually like the look of them and in certain circumstances the rear mounted jacks save space on the board.

I have the TOD and Drive; like them very much and am considering to rehouse them, only that will almost double their cost.... while they are perfectly functional now, except for the cheesy looks (I like the Sponge-Bob reference).

LOL...you're right...rehousing these almost defeats the purpose of the affordable pedal.

i agree....the vibe is great if you donŽt want to spend a lot of money for that kinda effect.....but the volume boost is to big, if it werenŽt for that, i would surely buy it...i think iŽll go for the lovepedal pickle vibe...
