Cause & Effect - the FET Dream overdrive

i'll fess up, i'm an overdrive pedal junky. i've owned or tried just about every one of 'em out there in fx-land. so seeing the cepedals banner on the tdpri home page a few weeks back had me clicking and checking out the fet dream. the sound bytes had me hooked so i ordered out the box. it arrived yesterday and i played hooky from my luthier duties for well over an hour whilst doing the obligatory new toy test trials. using a variety of guitars, pickups and amps, i tweaked and prodded the fet dream through its paces. i'm impressed. the sound bytes on the www.cepedals.com site are right on the money and the fet dream gives up the goods for me big time. my new and current 'go to' od pedal. check it out, folks.

Thanks for the review, Rob. I guess I should have known to look here at TDPRI first...

Are you still liking it?

i like the fet dream enuf to keep it on all the time, tweaked for adding a tiny, subtle amount of 'human vocal hair' to the guitar's voice, even for fingerpicking jazz and rag time. a twist of 2 knobs and it delivers an overdrive to my tube amps (8watt and 40watt) that's killer for blues 'n' rock, yet easy on the ears. yeah, i like this overdrive.

but ask me again next year ....

Very interesting. I listened to the clips on the website and they're very good. Most importantly, it sounds like a good gigging pedal. The tones were sweet, the overdrive was hairy but contained. The attack sounded great and the decay has some very cool qualities as well. I have an Analogman modded BD2 that I'm going to sell and put the dough towards this FET Dream. Thanks for sharing.
